I will also add all of the games are vs the new MLSN2 league members. No EA, NPL, 64 teams etc.

Agreed

MLS Next II account the clubs that are in it. Each club has different level of teams. So Coppermine probably already has a team in MLS Next and this is their next lower team in MLS Next II.
Coppermine was in ECRL not MLSN. So just a lateral move, ECRL to MLS2. Probably made the move because ECRL North Atlantic and Northeast South have weird overlaps so forces too much unnecessary travel for a regional league. They weren't even in the same ECRL league as Celtic and Pipeline.

ECNL to MLSN2 is lateral
Pay attention.

Yes, and ECNL for boys is just not the place to be. Any MLSN team is a better option, same applies to MLNSII.
Who is moving from ECNL to MLSN2?

Literally, nobody. unless they got cut from ECNL. MLS2 is ECRL-why would they take a step down?

Seriously, people take a step down for a ton of reasons. The first one and most important one is playing time. You might’ve been head and shoulders above all the regional league kids but not getting the plane time you dreamed of at ECNL. The new tier league is a great chance to find a start for many players. There are so many more complex decisions that factor in and they’re all valid. They all are for the player and their family alone to decide.

I would never accept 10-40mins a game for my son. We know he can ball at ECNL level but other kids were there first or have better relationships with the decision makers so they get the nod. we don’t want to live in the car as the next ECNL option is 45 mins away. Better to play 65 mins at MLSN2 than a be player not doing the important things at the best positions in the games.

Who says MLSN 2 doesn’t have the better pathway anyway?

MlSNext-2 and ECRl are literally the exact same level teams, People are just choosing which option makes more sense geographically, coach wise etc.

+1

and late HS when they realize the college team dream isn't going to pan out--or they just don't want it anymore, or the high academic D1 schools they want for academic won't make it possible...

it's a decent league with much better time constraints, a less strenuous schedule conducive to rigorous school schedule, etc. They can maintain a high level and have fun and play for the club team in college.

Exactly, neither ECNL NL or MLSN itself make sense for a lot of families due to the crazy travel commitment. Its too bad the USYS system got co-opted by clubs looking for paydays because it'd be better or ECNL RL and MLSN2 flat out didn't exist and we still had the state based systems.

I think girl parents just don't realize how few boys have any chance, much less interest, in playing D1 and/or going pro compared to girls.

Wait so what is the decent league with less time constraints?? MLS Next 2?

Both ECNL rl and in theory mlsn2 are more reasonable travel, with divisions based on smaller geographic areas.

I draw the line at air travel for legue games.

But my son almost joined Both an ECNL RL and an MLSNext tier 2 team and we were told that both separate clubs that his schedule would plan to be matched to play against the regional or secondary team of ECNL or MLS next games. So pretty similar in terms of travel sadly for both.

right now you cannot switch mlsn team during the season, do you know if a player from mlsn2 is able to switch to a mlsn team from other club?
