She’s in her Steve Harvey era but I’ll take Fushia or Elec Blue

Why are pants disrespectful? What in the world…?

Disrespectful to the people who want to check out her legs?

What are you 12? You guys know what a state dinner is right? It’s a black tie affair not a semi formal, not business and not business casual. Her pantsuit would have to be a tux to not be disrespectful.

but she didn't wear a business pant suit to a state dinner....? So, we're all ok, right?

I think she looks great -- there is a wind blowing (which you can see from her hair) which is making the peplum flare out as she walks. I'm not a huge fan of peplums but I think this one is nicely done and she looks great and presidential. I also really like the necklace with the neckline of the jacket/shirt. I give this an A+ and feel like PP is just being hypercritical here. She's a middle aged woman that is not built like a fashion model and needs to look conservative and presidential. This is a very fine pick.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Criticism of her clothing - especially a bizarre bell-shaped jacket - is not being “hypercritical.” The only video I could find that actually shows the ill-fitting jacket from the front as she’s walking is this one. No doubt other news sources were instructed not to show it.

Sweetie, there is a name for that hem and it is Peplum. How can we take you seriously when you post a tweet from a MAGA website and say things like "other news sources were instructed not to show it"? Nobody is instructing anyone not to show her blazer. You sound crazy.

This peplum doesn't fit at all. It needs to be fitted at her waist.

Like, none of this seems on anyone's priority radar. In either political party. Which is a really huge jump in 5-10 years, right?

So what do I think about her clothes? Well, the OP's question is the first time I've thought about it ever (good sign). Historically, she's always come across very well on stage, like any other president or VP - which I guess means she should keep doing what she's doing: Neutral, well fitted suits that don't distract. Basically, same answer as Biden, Obama, etc etc. (To keep it party neutral, I would say trump, but i've always thought his suits are very ill-fitting and distracting; first time i saw him at a debate, I asked my DH what they hell he was wearing, because it was so distracting).

Point being: I am pretty excited we're at a place where, at least for me, this is a non-question.

Agree. Her fashion doesn't scream "look at me!" It says, "I'm doing a job, keep your thoughts to yourself."

Like we weren't talking about Angela Merkel's clothes, were we? Because she was a powerful woman doing powerful woman things. Let's be better.

She isn't my candidate, but I love her style. She projects the right look in her outfits of feminity and power. I don't think she should change a thing.

Sure do. This is a peplum:

So is this:

What she had on was a parachute.

Sweetie, the reason I said that was because indeed, no other news sources have shown that clip. Why do you think that is? At any rate, that "peplum" was seriously oversized and ugly. She looks ridiculous with it waving in the wind.

Exactly. The video of her walking away, toward the plane, shows how absurd it looks from the back. Who is advising her?

This thread should end unless we start a "Donald Trump or JD Vance fashion" or perhaps the first gentleman? What is Doug going to wear?

I'm a woman and don't care what men wear because their clothes are boring AF. Trump and Vance are terrible dressers anyway. Doug's clothes are fine. And actually all of those men have had their fashion discussed on here.
