I think she looks great -- there is a wind blowing (which you can see from her hair) which is making the peplum flare out as she walks. I'm not a huge fan of peplums but I think this one is nicely done and she looks great and presidential. I also really like the necklace with the neckline of the jacket/shirt. I give this an A+ and feel like PP is just being hypercritical here. She's a middle aged woman that is not built like a fashion model and needs to look conservative and presidential. This is a very fine pick.

It finally occurred to me on the reasoning of her suits. I think they are boxy intentionally. If she wore fitted suits or dresses, they would sexualize her. I think she does it so you can't see her shape.

Agree. And I'm not a fan of the strangely cut higher necked asymmetrical blouses she wears a lot. Not flattering at all.

I don't think it's flattering but I think it looks kind of cool?

I think she wears that neckline to cover her sagging neck. Other women wear scarves or turtlenecks, she wears that high cut blouse. I don't think it is working and maybe a nice pivot to turtlenecks like Diane Keaton.

Those of us over 50 typically have a little pregnancy belly and if the jacket is too short, it pops out in the belly and doesn’t hang right. The length she wears is perfect to cover the belly and flatten it.
At least she’s not wearing those supper long jackets that hit at the thigh like Hilary did. Those looked ridiculous and made her look so short.

+1 I'm younger than her and also prefer the length of jacket she wears. Most of these trends are not flattering on older people with real bodies and who actually need to look like professionals. (Most trends today look pretty bad IMO - not even formal enough for like a law firm, let alone someone who has to project her level of gravitas.)

Yes and absolutely no cleavage. I don’t love turtlenecks or scarves either - so tends to be a bit boring but so be it.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Criticism of her clothing - especially a bizarre bell-shaped jacket - is not being “hypercritical.” The only video I could find that actually shows the ill-fitting jacket from the front as she’s walking is this one. No doubt other news sources were instructed not to show it.

I like Harris and generally think she's doing pretty well with her Presidential fashion choices. This one's pretty bad. She should stick to pant suits.

I think a pantsuit is fine unless it’s a state dinner then I think it’s disrespectful to show up in pants to a function like that but again she will be the one working so she should always look polished but comfortable. Something like the queen mother

The first thing she does is apologize to staffers for keeping them out in the heat. I don’t care what level of “flare” she comes with. Empathy is very fashionable right now, as it should be.

Why are pants disrespectful? What in the world…?

Disrespectful to show up in pants?

The skirt is not the problem; it's the jacket. I'd advise her to never wear that one again.
