Didn’t those workers and their friends and family vote for this. I don’t even have thoughts and prayers to provide. |
Democrats = the party of brown people And they really hate brown people. They can’t break their addiction to the GOP and how it’s a signal for hating brown people. They don’t want to live near them, share a school with them, or interact with them. They will never blame Republicans for what’s happening to them. This is why Democrats just need to focus on breaking the GOP and promoting a Cities First agenda. Destroy the GOP’s base of support. |
Yep, the Democrats might want to consider a new alliance with Big Tech where all data centers are put in rural areas where previously subsidized and unproductive farms were located. Move all employment to urban areas and have AI take over the MAGA propaganda outlets. |
What does this mean? The GOP gets votes because it manages to unite on othering and hatred of others. Seems hard to break that |
Yes - that’s why it’s in this thread. This area of Ohio is formerly Democratic but can’t stop believing Trump’s bullsh!t. |
To be fair, this is the state where Haitians were eating the cats and the dogs. /s More seriously, at the time the whole cats and dogs thing was going down, there were a bunch of factory owners who were interviewed about the Haitians. The owners were defending the Haitians and saying they were good workers who showed up on time and sober. That tells the truth about the rest of the workforce available. It’s a bad generalization but there it is. |
You’re making my point for me - they are irredeemable and Dems are fools for extending the olive branch time and again. Gerrymander the hell out of Trump voting geographies and concentrate spending/infrastructure/ good schools in cities and close-in suburbs. Raise the gas taxes, remove all the rural and ex-urban subsidies. Force the localities to spend to maintain their way of life. Give them what they want - to be left the hell alone and thus to suffer alone. |

Member of the day of the "I didn't know the leopard would eat "MY" face." club.
Representative Kevin Kiley, the California Republican who has been one of the most vocal opponents of Proposition 50, said in a statement that the election “fell well short of the ideals we ought to strive for in our democratic process,” and that he would continue to fight partisan gerrymandering. Mr. Kiley’s district becomes competitive for Democrats under the new map. |

Who could have predicted Trump's behavior? /s
