They are scared to play the good teams, but they can really run it up on the bad ones.

2018 to 2019 Briar Woods was the best team in the state all levels. 2020 to 2024 Riverside was the best team in the state all levels. 2025 and now 2026 Indy is the best team in the state all levels.

Mostly true.

It’s not really their fault that they play such a soft schedule, but they play such a soft schedule it’s hard to know how good they are. Even one or two tough opponents might give you enough of a gut check, allow you to spot things to tighten etc. There’s nothing like that for Indy until deep into the playoffs.

I feel like if riverside were to join the 6a class they would be playing everyone and mesh into the mix nicely and positively add to the spirit of competition across the division. just feels different with indy joining 6a.

Good games tonight:

West Springfield vs Yorktown
Independence vs Herndon
Westfield vs McLean
Madison vs West Potomac
Lake Braddock vs South Lakes

A bit of Patriot District intrigue tonight as we find out more about whether West Springfield is for real and get another look at WP against good competition. Who is playing for 2nd behind Robinson in that district?

Indy was not the best team last year. They beat Riverside by 1 goal once... Madison beat them by two and didn't even make it out of the region. Would put them between 5-7 in the state last season.

Even though I agree with you a 1-2 goal difference in a game is pretty much a toss up.

It's bold to say best in the state at all levels (assuming you only mean public only). 3 weeks in to the season doesn't mean anything. In June we find out who's the best (public) team in the State.

Will we see some offensive explosions based on how two of the games last night went? Was last night a warm up for Independence or could they be tired somehow from all that scoring?

West Springfield vs YT is my most intriguing to follow. WS came outa nowhere to be 5-0. I think TY has the edge because of #3 but we'll see what happens.
