FC Virginia is using Morven Park fields too. |
The requirement only states that a non-profit books the field. |
Morven Park is a private non-profit. |
Sounds like you are wanting to push FCV off park land in order to diminish their field allocation so they cannot meet DA standards and hope they lose their DA license?
Yes or no |
I iwsh there was a way to dismiss the morons and actually have insightful discussions about the options for female soccer players, quality of coaches and competition and developmental paths. Let's leave the bickering outside of these discussions. |
Loudoun SC wanted to be a part of the DA so bad. Until the very last minute, they were going to partner with Spirit. But like everything else, they wanted control and were told to get lost. So they partnered with FCV, a club they did not care for. The deal was only done by FCV for fields. A deal that benefited FCV and not Loudoun. Loudoun did the deal so they could stay involved because they knew all of their top kids were leaving for DA next door. Then the cut Loudoun personnel out of the picture and said...thanks..no thanks.
So here we are...field allocations and 501c discussions. |
Spirit was a complete startup. No existing player pool. Its remarkable that there U16/17s are finding such success. Being able to compete with some of the best in the country with a "put together" team is pretty impressive. Spirit 04's: From my understanding, Spirit staff manages playing time pretty fairly across the board. If you are on the roster you are playing. Win, lose or draw. They will take out the best kid on the field for the kid on the bench. People may not like that, but if your selling development then you must stick by your principles. Apparently, every game a handful of 04's play up on the 03's. The 03 pool looks to have been the hardest group to put together for Spirit. No easy task for the 04's to say the least. But again, they are getting opportunities they wouldn't be getting elsewhere...say like FCV where there 03s are stacked. HOWEVER: All of this changes next year when the 03's combine with the 02s to form the U16/17 group I'm assuming that the 04 will have a more dedicated player pool next year and will be pretty decent in the U15 bracket. From what I can tell, they have some pretty good kids. They just need a few key pick ups this tryout season to hit the next level. Just my opinion on what I know about the 04's |
FCV has only ever partnered with clubs to get access to their fields. That's a known fact to anyone that has been involved with travel soccer since they came into existence. I don't like them either, but going after them for mis-use of field allocations seems laughable -- it's their MO so I'm sure they've buttoned up whatever they need to in their agreements to allow them to do what they do. With their Loudoun partnership done after this year, they'll probably find another club to attach to.
Now can we please move on? |
This is only half true. The Loudoun merger was about player pool. FCV has access to fields through FCV Ashburn and FCV United. The overall player pool size is the determining factor by the County in regards to the number of fields allocated. Also, what is Loudoun Dad gonna say when DC United sets up their DA shop in Bolen Park and decimates Loudoun’s Boys DA? |
And what was the reason FCV partnered with Ashburn? And with Annandale and Chantilly before then? And wasn’t SYA involved with them one year? All because FCV was (and remains) desperate for field space. |
DC United's proposed move to Bolen is fine. It has been reviewed and approved by county officials. What is not okay is breaking the rules. I will always stand up against that no matter who you are. If you break the law or violate the rules you will answer for it. |
Regardless of the motives FCV is still allowed to use the fields. There really is no Ashburn SC anymore, it is FCV's now. |
If FCV United booked the field then FCV complied with the rules. |
you don't think FCV thought of all this before you, the internet sleuth, figured it out? i have no dog in this fight but you sound like a child. if you're proud of your child's club, good for you...focus on that. jesus, people. |
OK agreed. If FCV is allowed to use the fields, then there is nothing for you to worry about. Let's move on. |
