Fire in upper NW?

I have a friend who is completely grounded, successful and brilliant. I prefaced with that because I want it to be clear he's not a crystal-gazer or anything. Just a grounded, good human. When he was a kid he almost drowned. He struggled at first but after a very short period of pain he literally eft his body behind. He described it as peaceful, not scary and he didn't fight it at all. He saw his mother and she told him she loved him and it was okay to go. He also saw every moment of his life pass before him, almost like he was reliving his whole life at once, with total clarity.

Obviously he didn't die - a sudden current pushed him back to the surface of the water. The only reason I'm posting this is because I hope that the human experience is universal and that we all leave our bodies before we die and that we don't experience the pain and torture, in particular of a brutal death. None of us can know what happens and what he experienced, but maybe - maybe - we can take a little comfort in the hope that the son's (as well as the parents' and vera's) deaths weren't really something that they lived through - i know this probably doesn't make a lot of sense. I just so so so hope that people who are subjected to violence and torture have that same experience of leaving their bodies and don't actually experience the pain and suffering.

And I really hope they catch the psychopaths who did this.

I hope you are right. Hoping endorphins kick in and help numb pain but who knows.

So sad forthis poor man and Vera's children in El Salvador-they seem to be good people.

Yes, you can tell from the housekeeper's photo that she seemed to be a kind person.

My suspicion is that she was the one person whose body didn't show evidence of beating/lacerations, and that she was murdered almost as soon as the psychopaths entered the house. If that's so, then that's at least some small consolation for her grieving husband. Poor man, I really feel for him.

Do we know if Phillip was at school on Wednesday? I was thinking that perhaps Amy left to go pick up Phillip at school (this would probably be around 2:30), leaving the maid there alone. The perps, probably observing the house form nearby, are able to gain entry past the maid and kill her before Amy and Phillip return. They return from school and are ambushed, and then they force Amy to call SS and get him to return from the dojo in Chantilly. It would be interesting to know if Nellie recall SS receiving a call from Amy while they were together in Chantilly. In the article or interview I read, Nellie only says that SS mentioned to her that he had to be home early to take care of Phillip (because Amy was going out), but did he actually get a call?

Makes sense. And during that time (when Amy was gone), they probably disabled the alarm system.

Also, she met Savvas on Wednesday, then he leaves her a voice message that same night but she only (conveniently) listens to it on Thursday morning, followed by txt msg from Amy, and yet was already cleaning another house in McLean?

Her entire justification chain is way too scripted and seems artificially designed to exclude her from the scene and from any involvement.

I think the perpetrators had her as an accomplice, which would explain no forced entry, no dogs barking, and the entire insistence that she should not come to work that day.

Meh. Why not just pick a day she wasn't supposed to come anyway. Didn't she only work 2 days a week there? I'm still unclear why they needed TWO housekeepers, but never mind that.

The surviving maid brought the now deceased on on to work with her-in the earlier reports it stated that Nelitza allowed Vera to work with her-makes no sense really but perhaps Nelitza sub-contracted the work to Vera through her seemingly bogus cleaning business.

This tragedy is so beyond anything anyone can imagine so they are trying to figure out what would cause a human being to do this to other human beings.

It's no different than wondering how a serial killer is made. What f'd up mind does those things ?

This is so so terrible. I have to stop reading this because the details just get worse. I so, so hope they catch the animals who did this soon. And I wish DC had the death penalty.

Just to clarify - I was the person who originally posted the rumor that there was a bag with 40k left in front of the house. I posted it as an unverified rumor but subsequent posters repeated it a lot and now people are wondering where the citation is. Just to be clear - this is an internet rumor, verified by nobody. I read it as a comment written by a relative of the family, but have no way to verify if that relative is actually related.

If NG brought the other housekeeper to work that morning and NG went to the martial art studio with Phillip, how did NG get back to retrieve her car or go home ?

Was NG supposed to pick up the other housekeeper and give her a ride home when she and Phillip returned at 5 ?

so it sounds like the 40K rumor did have truth to it. Didn't the assistant think that was odd? Doesn't matter what the housekeeper says since this can be easily verified with the assistant and/or bank.

$40,000 cash scheduled to be delivered to home where 4 murdered

According to Nelitza Gutierrez, a housekeeper working for the Savopoulos family, $40,000 in cash was to be delivered to the house on Woodland Drive last Thursday morning, the day the bodies were found.

In an off-camera interview, Gutierrez says an assistant was scheduled to drop off the cash to be used for the opening of a martial arts center in Chantilly, Virginia. The housekeeper says she spoke with the person who was supposed to make the delivery and he confirmed he dropped it off at the house Thursday morning.
