Malaysia Airlines Flight Goes Missing En Route to China

I believe that one of the biggest reasons there are not more women pilots is that Earhart crashed and sadly, that fact obliterates all her other achievements. If you ask any woman about a woman pilot, it's "Earhart" and "crashed in the ocean, never found."

As an aside (I've mentioned this before on this thread, so sorry if you've seen this) there is a recovery operation called TIGHR that thinks they've found part of Earhart's plane. There is a little island and on that island they found a jar of freckle cream and it was known that Earhart hated her freckles. They found some other objects, too. The theory is that she and/or her (photographer?) actually survived on that island for a time, but no one ever found them. Botched rescue; the folks in the region were too amateur to deal with it in a timely fashion. (Sound familiar?)

Anyways they are either back there now, or going back there within the year, with the right equipment to search right off the coast of that island because they've seen something that looks like landing gear (something like that).

-She was completely obsessed with the Malaysian airlines disappearance. Friends and family said her obsession seemed excessive and they wondered about her sanity.

-She has friends who are from Iran, Pakistan, India, Iraq and Malaysia. These friends have travelled back to their homelands within the past 5 years.

-She once dated a man who had a background in aerospace engineering

-Her obsession with 9-11 was as excessive as her obsession with the Malaysian airlines

-We checked her computer and she has spent endless
hours reading news articles about terrorism, school shootings and.....how to tone her belly (we think that is code for something nefarious)

-She made a mysterious phone call before the plane took off...da..da...da...dum

Yep I agree. Its amazing how anything can sound suspicious. Pilot had flight simulators in his house. Sounds ominous until you hear that a lot of pilots do this (and couldn't it be the sign of a good pilot).

Except THIS pilot deleted very specific trial flight paths on his simulator before this flight.

instead of terrorism, could it have been old fashioned murder? someone wanting to get rid of multiple people, dumping them in the ocean? picking the deepest part to just make it less likely info would be found or recovered?

Who wants to murder multiple people? Unless you want to get revenge on folks having an affair, in which you want to kill both parties.

Unless you are meaning something like the VATech or Columbine attacks, where its like "fuck the world, and everyone in it!". But I don't think that counts as old fashioned murder.

One of the pilots could have left the cockpit to use the restroom, the other has a heart attack and falls on the to controls causing the turn. The cockpit door is locked and the other pilot can not get back in.

I meant murder with a financial motive, not the newer school shooting horrible stuff that's been happening. I heard something about some of the people on the flight being partners in companies and being involved in businesses etc. If we are talking all these other crazy scenarios it just seems like maybe someone paid to have people taken off this earth. I do agree it's nuts that they'd take all these innocent people, but who knows. maybe those on the flight knew something or needed to be silenced.

Or, when one pilot leaves for the bathroom, the remaining pilot is killed by hijacker/s.

But, what would happen to the passengers? Would they be unaware?

From BBC News:
Investigators have not ruled out any possible explanation for the missing flight. However, some experts believe that if debris of the plane is found in the southern Indian Ocean, it is unlikely that the plane was hijacked. "The reasonable motives for forcing the plane to fly there are very, very few," Gerry Soejatman, a Jakarta-based independent aviation analyst, tells AFP.

But if the pilot was fooling the hijacker? Hijacker said, take me (fill in the blank) and pilot pretended they were heading there until they ran out of fuel?

One of the conspiracy theory sites says just this. There were 20 passengers who worked for a company (Freescale Semiconductor) that supposedly among other things is working on how to conceal aircrafts. There's some hoopla on the consipracy sites about a patent and if some of these people were killed the person who wasn't on the flight would get all the rights to the patent. Here is a link to one of the websites. Keep in kind these are not news websites and they probably get A LOT of facts wrong.

I don't get how murder would help you reach a financial goal?
Unless you mean suicide and the insurance money?
Or ransom, and they were supposed to bring the passengers back if they got paid?
Otherwise, how does the attacker benefit -- they end up dead, no?

Note that the passengers did not do anything until they crashed into the sea.

That is just stupid.
Freescale owns the IP rights and the patent, no matter who is listed as "inventor".
They don't need to kill anybody, they already own all proceeds from the work.

The only thing the "inventors" get is a bonus or plaque or some small shit like that completely at the discretion of the company.

They already know the turn was not done manually, it was programmed.

Or - this is one huge PR scheme that went horribly wrong. They used the thing used to conceal the plane and are now afraid to admit it.
