"Georgia's state Senate joined attempts to investigate Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Friday, voting 30-19 to create a special committee that Republican senators say is needed to determine whether the Democratic district attorney misspent state tax money in her prosecution of former President Donald Trump and others.

“This has to do with following state funds,” said Republican Sen Matt Brass of Newnan. “We want to know where is our money going.”

The committee, which doesn't require approval by the state House or Gov. Brian Kemp, is tasked with making recommendations on state laws and spending based on its findings.

Good.

Lol

Georgia's senate is so partisan and y'all are so thrilled about it.

Just like the ultra partisan Fani who conspired with the Bidens and the Whitehouse Counsel's Office to line her and her boyfriend's pockets with kickbacks and misappropriating Covid funds.

Someone should alert the 'COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement Task Force' that was created by the Department of Justice to go after and prosecute financial frauds related to Covid funds.

Sorry but this didn't start with "Corrupt Fani." It started with Corrupt Trump trying to rig the Georgia election. None of your histrionics over Fani makes that go away.

I agree - dismissal of all charges against Trump is unlikely. However, that doesn't mean all of the histrionics over Fani go away either. Big Fanni has to deal with the tsunami of ethical, administrative Fulton Co. & State Senate investigations, Impeachment proceedings), civil and criminal cases headed her way not to mention she will be embroiled in a major political storm involving coordination with Biden and the White House Counsel. Anyway you slice it, Trump benefits by delaying or possibly having the case dismissed which is ironic since it was the most serious case against Trump since no pardon of State convictions by the US President and the mandatory 5 years minim sentence for RICO conviction in GA.

Fani will have to either resign or be removed, face the Georgia Bar for suspension or disbarment of her licensure and hire a good lawyer for all of the cases forthcoming. It may even start to look like Trump legal saga.

Whatever she did, proper or improper, by charging Trump, the tsunami would fall on her. At least she had a bit of fun before MAGA figured out how to attack her.

(Misuse of covid funds? Really? Y'all are so desperate.)

? Who are these weirdos littering this thread?

Fani Willis has many enemies for doing the hard job of taking out the trash. Obviously her enemies are going to place her entire life under the microscope and make a huge deal out of any minor thing they can find.

But the Georgia case will continue, and Trump will not escape.

Her hard job of profiting off the relationship she has with her direct subordinate?

None of her other accomplishments mean she should go ahead and hire her married lover. I'm so sick of ridiculous arguments meant to divert everyone's attention away from the actual situation.

She is also annoyed that Wade's wife has the TEMERITY to question her in divorce proceedings - his wife is out to sabotage her.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Fani is sleeping with her husband. Also, he can be a FANTASTIC lawyer, but then have no criminal felony or RICO experience at all, thus not even qualified for the job.

You just cannot stand the idea that a former and future president should get in trouble for trying to rig an election. It's horrible! How dare she!

When y'all throw out words like "profiting", it shows that you are unserious and your complaints are unserious. FYI

I’m so sick of the legitimate pain and trauma of the history of Blacks in America being used by these 'skin peddlers' and the Democrats.

It’s very very old. Zora Neale Hurston said it… ‘All my skin folk ain’t my kin folk.’ And as people of Black ethnicity, we need to understand/accept this.

Gigolo prosecutor made $653k, $250 per hour according to 2 contracts, to a man with no experience in felonies or RICO.

The man who has RICO experience made about $70k, contracted at $150 and $200 per hour. She lied about getting the same rates in a house of God.

Let's think about it.

She hired him - with no felony prosecution experience. She paid him $250/hr (more than the other prosecutors, despite her protestations). She accompanied him on at least 2 trips that we know of (not to any location pertinent to the investigation).
SHE was responsible for his hiring and approving his compensation. He used that compensation to pay for her travel and accommodations. And, there is some reporting that the two of them are living together.

Yeah, I think profiting is a good description of what happened.

Did you convince yourself?

Say it a few more times. Maybe you'll talk yourself into believing that nonsense.

There's no point in engaging with the crazies on this thread. I push back to let them know they aren't getting away with their silliness but that's about it.
I'm not going to spend time trying to lead them back to reality.

This is the new Durham thread.
They’ll post “rut roh” for the next 6 months.
And then these cases get fired up and guilty verdicts start rolling in.

So, when the investigations prove that she improperly hired an unqualified prosecutor and profited from that hiring, we will revisit this thread.
