He deserves 100% of the blame. How many times do people have to tell you, being drunk, no matter how drunk, does not give someone else permission to mistreat you in any way. He committed the crime. He had his due process and he was convicted. You know more about him because his name is the one published. And, you know more about him, because we live in a culture that will stand up for a white star athlete and try to rationalize the worst behavior for him. Sometimes, we do have to pay for the rest of our lives for a bad decision or one bad moment. This was one of those moments. |
You just "know" that he had done this before? You know no such thing. The kid was a 4 month freshman who had only just discovered the college drinking party hook up scene. He met up with Emily an older college grad who had 4 years of frat party experience under her belt. They presumably danced/kissed/hooked up before they went to the dumpsters. I can see why his family/friends are less than convinced that Brock was the one leading her back there. He says that she led him back there. And you know what? I believe him. |
I don't! Because between Brock and Emily- who is the confirmed sex offender douchebag? That's right-it's Brock! It will alway will, for the rest of his life, be Brock-no matter how many broken down excuses you make and no matter how many parties Emily had been to before. Cheers! |
His name and his family's names are out there. That is why I know who they are. I know he's been convicted that really isn't a question. But folks on this thread are accusing him of being a violent predator and I really disagree with that characterization. Of course I do not know all the facts of this case. But neither do any of you. To a large degree we are all guessing, speculating as to what happened that night and who did what. Really none of us can possibly know for absolute certainty what happened. Brock has talked to his family in detail and they will stand by him and make sure that when he is released he will become a productive member of our society. That is all they can do. But I know that they will do it. |
I hope for Emily's sake that she is done with drinking and partying. But based on her statement I do not know that she will stop. I do hope she can move on and build herself a happy life. |
| if there is any evidence that Emily led him behind the dumpster, then this is a gross miscarriage of justice. |
|
He did not want to go to jail for 6 years because he would have been raped for 6 years. Something that he did not want to endure.
So, he does not want to be raped, even though he raped someone? He is a pig, raised by pigs who deserve every thing he got and more. |

Seen this?
http://heavy.com/news/2016/06/brock-turner-parents-father-dad-mother-mom-dan-carleen-facebook-page-20-minutes-of-action/ The Facebook page begging for $$ to fund his defense is in poor taste. |
No it's NOT! The crime he was convicted of was sexually touching and penetrating an unconscious person. It doesn't matter whether she dragged him there herself...once she passed out, she could no longer consent. He was humping and fingering her unconscious body. That's the crime. |
You know this how? Because they did such a good job ensuring that he knew not to sexually assault a drunk and unconscious person before? |
If she hit on him, led him to a private place, then it tells me the intent was not to prey. the intent was a drunken hookup. I think it fair to assume he started to finger her when they were both participating actively. It seems impossible to know when he clearly knew she was passed out. |
Why is that a fair assumption when there were several abrasions found in her vagina? And when a jury that saw and heard all the evidence found otherwise? |
It is eniterly possible she passed out after he started 'dry humping' her - who knows. His letter to the judge indicated consent on the finger. That is why there is a grey area here and probably why there is leniency on the sentencing. |
Nobody wants that or should get that. Our prison system is disgraceful. |
I totally agree; he's complete trash, but sexual sadism should not be the unspoken true punishment of prison. Restricting one's freedom is. That said, I do find it curious that a rapist like Brock does have some idea of how bad it would feel to have your body invaded without your consent, yet still has no problem doing it to someone else. |
