Brian Boitano? I don’t get it. 🤔 |
I think this board would say "What would Tanya Harding do?" |
As soon as the vaccines are approved (including a future pediatric vaccine), they should be required for students. |
That still won’t ensure that they won’t catch the virus and get sick. It’s not going to eliminate the virus. What happens then when it’s your family that experienced a breakthrough case and possibly passes it on to someone unable to vaccinate or who is otherwise compromised? It could happen. That would suck if it were your family. |

What would Brian Boitano do?

It's a reference from South Park. |
There is no perfect solution. Required vaccinations will be as closest to a solution as we'll be able to get. Those immunocompromised families will have to take the risk or attend virtual or homeschool. We cannot wear masks for the remainder of our lives. I homeschooled my daughter when she could not attend school because of a medical issue, pre-COVID. For families that have special needs, this is not unheard of for them. |
Well I won’t be asking what Brian Boitano would do. |
Yeah. I was just playing devil’s advocate. 😈 |
childless parents, parents who sent their own children to in-person privates and parents of grown children school boards (and other elected officials) certainly felt that way about keeping schools shut down for OTHER people's children. |
Yup. Give it a rest people. Concurrent is isn’t happening. Every k-6 teacher I know, but especially k-3 do not even want to use the computer at all. Me included. We are getting back to the basics. |
Concurrent for a high school student who has to be out for over a week quarantining is going to be a lot easier for them to catch up with classes than posting the assignments and expecting them to teach themselves or come back after 10 days and catch up then. Unless things have changed wince I was in school. Coming back after even a few days off was hard to do and people missing more than 1 week was rare. Allowing kids who need to be quarantined to listen in to the class concurrently will go a long way in helping them stay up to speed. Elementary is a lot harder to do that with and they can't be vaccinated yet, so that probably will be more left to catching students up. Thankfully they cover things at a slower pace and there is more fluff that can be skipped to catch a kid up, at least for the younger grades where letting a kid watch online takes more effort to support them and lecture style lessons aren't as common. |
Yes! I full support zero laptop use in k-6. They have had enough of it. |
