I’m trying, but coming up blank. Sibley, Inova, GWU, Georgetown...where else?

It’s her wealth, not his. Why should she pay for it?

Is this a serious question?? They’re married.

Do you think Mark Zuckerberg has Priscilla Chan still working to pay off her medical school debt??

I remember Nicole Shanahan who is the wife of Sergey Brin (billionaire and founder of google) talk about her student loans in a video. I’m sure Brin who is now her husband has paid it off for her.

I find it bizarre that she has her husband working to pay it off. Given she has a family office she can afford it. I’m assuming that he is going to be the father of her children so...???

Yes, it’s a serious question. It was my question, actually. Clearly, having a prenup, this family doesn’t think like you do. Why on earth would she pay his loans off after securing a prenup?

I’m the person that asked if this is a serious question. She’s smart to have a prenup. Never disagreed with that. And honestly, doesn’t sound like a family I would marry into. There are plenty of wealthy families that aren’t like this one and actually kind.

And she is not kind, because?

DP- I think she sounds confident and generous with her immediate family, which is great, but she doesn’t sound kind. The insistence on her husband paying his own loan and fantasizing about setting up her sister with her DH’s friend just after she met his sweet gf (wtf?) just gives off an unkind vibe. She seems awesome in some ways but is probably overbearing and controlling in real life.

Where do you see that she "insisted" her husband pays his own loan?

"Hi there! I'm OP! We were contributing equally to our savings when I was in residency/fellowship and my husband was paying off his student loans and our pre-nup was written to reflect that. Now that our incomes are so different, I contribute more to the amount that we save every month so the document needs to be updated to match. We're also planning on trying for a baby soon, so we wanted to add some things regarding that as well.”
If not insisted, why include it in prenup?

Maybe her husband preferred to fully own his degree.

very true, my husband also has this pride for paying off his own debt

She could live and work in NOVA - she just said she was in the DC area, right?

I saw where she mentioned Tri Delt but it was a meme. Not sure if she was serious.

Oh, maybe. It said "Location: Washington, DC" so I took that to mean they live in DC proper but maybe they're just using that as a broad way to describe the dc area

I don’t know - old money I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s white. If not, my guess is Indian. Does it matter?

My guess is black

I thought Indian, based on the food descriptions.

My guess is big Indian or Persian family.

Indian people don't have great-grandparents in this country.

We've only been allowed to immigrate for the past 40-50 years.

If they live in Georgetown, could have been a diplomatic family. Or only part of the family is Indian.

You are really reaching now. Lol. The Indian community is tiny in DC, in all of America actually, it would be well known if there was a 30 something multi-millionaire Indian doctor in DC whose family has been here for a minimum of 80 years. Even writing that out is absurd. India wasn't even an independent country until 1948.

Now if she's Indian and married some old money WASP or a black or Jewish man from generational wealth, that could be plausible but then that townhouse was inherited from his side, not hers.

There have been Indians living in the US for over a century. Especially on the west coast. Some were even granted citizenship and deemed "white." If you read up on Asian American history, you'll learn that there have been Asians in the US for a long, long time. Not all of us arrived after '65.

They live in a at least $2.3m townhouse based on their property tax and that sounds like Georgetown to me

There's a thread on lipstick alley where they try and figure out who she is... I haven't made it through all of the thread yet.

Right. Do 4br 4 ba townhomes with $12,000/year property taxes even exist in NoVA?

I'm dying to know who she is. Not that I'll do absolutely *anything* with that information besides having my own curiosity satisfied lol, but I must know: does she have bangs? What kind of dogs do they have and what are their names? Was she an NCS girl? Or perhaps this was a Visi-Prep (or Gonzaga) duo? What old money DC family does she come from?

$750/year boat club dues = Potomac Boat Club

It’s got a loooooong waitlist and it’s super wasp’y old money Washingtonians. There’s rowing, but also a big social club element with crowds in their 20s and 30s

I also wonder what kind of surgeon she is. I'm not super well-versed on MD salaries, but isn't 500k a lot esp for a surgeon just out of fellowship?

6 am to 6 pm is in no way crazy.

It is if you have to perform surgery.

I’ve known transplant surgeons who routinely pull shifts more that twice that long. Over 24 hours when an organ comes available on their call. 12 hours is nothing.

If she's still up and doing things at 11:15 PM and then she wakes up at 4:45, then she's getting 5 hours of sleep a night? SHould you be operating in that condition? Also if you're still drinking at 11 PM and then you're doing surgery at 6, isn't that a bit like an airplane pilot driving the plane after drinking?

Agreed. She has very poor eating and sleeping habits!
