2021 DMV area Boys Outlook

What do you mean SJC cheats?

I saw them play twice last year against Georgetown Prep and Landon.

I didn’t see any cheating in either game last March? They dominated Prep after a very slow slow and went neck & neck vs Landon.

I think the only folks on here who are bashing SJC are either Gonzaga folks because they finally have some competition in the WCAC or maybe even GP people.

The 3 schools compete for kids and pull from the same community for the most part.

Just to confirm, I saw SJC play GP last year and no one cheated in that competition, it was simply just an SJC ass kicking of the lil Hoyas.

NL cadets 2-4 in the past 2 weekend showcases

Does fall lacrosse translate to the spring?
Didn’t St. John’s lose to Prep last fall and blow their doors off in the spring?

Actually they lost to Severna Park and everyone else on the planet.
Only reason they have success in the spring is because they cheat.

Mandatory year around workouts. Illegal.

Mandatory lifts three days a week and practices every weekend year around. If you don’t go, you are cut from the program.

The players don’t go to class. They shoot and practice during a few classes every day.

A single high school team, without all of their players, and switching goalies at half, beat Crabs and Leading Edge. I think they'll be fine.

Prep and GZ compete for same kids but SJC has a harder time getting these DMV kids. That’s why it is a pretty good move for SJC to recruit kids from places like southern MD.

SJC recruits a ton of kids from the Crofton, Bowie and Davidsonville area.

You are clearly a GZ or GP parent or booster and have a outdated view of SJC.

I can name several families whose son was admitted into GZ but decided to enroll at SJC and vice versa.

I have several sons who play multiple sports including lacrosse. No one we know picked SJC over Prep or GZ. Again, SJC’s recent rise in talent is attributable to mostly non-traditional recruits, like all the Hawks from southern Maryland.

SJC is attracting many lax players mainly due to their recent success and the ability to offer extreme discounts on tuition. I believe that is totally acceptable. Good luck.

If SJC recruits out of AA, PG and Howard then good for them as it seems to be working in all of their sports programs. Also, the WCAC doesn't operate like the other conferences. Recruiting and mandatory participation is allowed and endorsed depending on the school. There's a reason why the WCAC is so much better at most sports. DeMatha used this strategy to its benefit for a long time.

All the WCAC and IAC offer unjustified financial aid for athletes who can help certain sports. It’s been that way for many many years.

It's not against their rules so it's not unjustified.
