Not exactly. He was interviewed because of the Kislyak phone call, because he had publicly denied and mischaracterized them. He lied to Priebus, Pence, and Spicer. And then he did the same thing when asked by the FBI.

So they thought he might lie, because he's a liar. And he did lie. They were right.
