No desire to visit these places.

Those are “popular” destinations?

For me, it’s Hawaii, hands down. So far, so expensive, so crowded.

Big island and Kauai not crowdwd

Arizona. No interest at all.

But for now, Snowshoe is fine — I dislike cold weather enough as it is, so if I’m going to spend allll that money that it would cost to go to CO/UT in the dead of winter, I’d rather go somewhere where it’s actually warmer than where I live...

My sentiments exactly.

+1
Even Oahu isn't crowded outside of Waikiki. Hawaii is worth the effort. Reconsider.

Why? I’m just curious. I’ve never been but want to go.

Paris totally charmed us last June. If we'd gone in late July, we'd be singing a different tune. Weather was perfect and trees in bloom giving the parks a wonderful fragrance. Add a daytrip to Giverney.

People don’t go there for the action, they go to relax on the beach.

+1. The people who don’t enjoy just relaxing at the beach are those that freak out at having to spend consecutive days at home with their children and must plan an outing. Some people are afraid of their own company.

Or it could just be that the beaches and water around here are gross and ugly.

Lol

Yup So ugly

NP. I'm a French speaker and France lover and would recommend trying some other parts of France - Lyon and the French Alps, or Provence and the South of France. I do enjoy Paris but find myself enjoying these areas much more. Less touristy.

Come on, Thailand? I have a vacation home there! The medical services alone are worth the visit. Plus the food is amazing and the people are great. Try it!

And people who hate Disney and cruses, to be fair.

So now our vacation choices have to be PC?

I am laughing my ass off reading through this thread, and so so happy that most of the people I know don't think like this. To each their own, but man are there some seriously boring/uptight/unimaginative people around here.

There are MUCH nicer beaches on the east coast, but DC people tend to think beach choices are limited to either a boardwalk or OBX - which actually works quite well for the rest of us.
