Cheer on Netflix

That was a really great show. Sad it only lasted for two seasons.

Anyone stumbled across any other competitive ballet documentary series?

The entire time her demeanor and tone was quiet, reserved, focused. She barely smiled, even when the team did something right (except for at competition). When somebody fell or got hurt she never ran over to them. I just didn’t see what was so inspirational or amazing about her. Yes, she counseled Lexi and obviously had a soft spot for Morgan, but I don’t think the documentary portrayed her as an amazing coach. She seemed detached and a little cold and dead eyed.

I love her. She reminded me of my daughter's coaches in a different sport. I don't think she's dead-eyed, but definitely detached, because she needs to be!

The show also gives me "Friday Night Lights" feelings. If only there were a Riggins!

IA! I was so sad that it only aired for two seasons.

Ugh, Riggins. Riggins in the rain. Excuse me for a minute. You know what was so cute? When the boys would come to Coach's house and say in greeting, "Coach, ..." and then see his wife and say "Mrs. Coach,".

Possibly she has a learning disability (ADHD, dyslexia) that makes her ability to focus, follow through and get through her classes very difficult. She’s had a hard past and can probably make something of herself but my guess it will take her some more faltering to figure it all out, mature, and succeed. She’s bright and funny but has some challenges outside of her poor decision making (my guess).
Not disputing your ultimate point but what doe vocal fry have to do with it? I haven't noticed a correlation between vocal fry and low intelligence.

Not saying that there is a correlation. She has vocal fry, in a kind of valley girl way. And she also seems to be of lower intelligence. Disparate characteristics can be applied to the same person.

I think its sort of surprising that people speculate on someone's intelligence based on what little we know of her. She only had 2 years of high school and then tested "college level" on her GEDs (I don't know what that means exactly, but it doesn't sound like low IQ). I found myself rooting for her - she really needs that structure that cheer gave her. Hopefully she'll find something that can provide that.

Noooo...not Jerry. I just loved him. That’s shocking, and sad. I never would’ve imagined he was a predator. Hope those boys are okay.

Ok not excusing this AT ALL, but lets wait until all the facts come in before we judge. His attorney said that he was a teen when this happened. If two thirteen year old boys send videos to each other its totally different than a 21 year old soliciting this from a kid.

Harris, 21, is accused of "enticing an underage boy to produce sexually explicit videos and photos of himself," according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
The minor was 13 at the time, the complaint said.

He was 19 at the time when he asked 13 yr old boys to send videos and photos.
