Switching to regional programs certainly does diminish RM, but it never was truly pulling from the entire county given plenty of students would never apply to a school so far from home. |
and how do you know this to be fact? |
IMO, it would be a complete waste of time to send your child to RMIB if your child won't be trying for the diploma. Dumbing down the program doesn't help the students get the diploma. I have no idea if the Principal's child got in, but I believe he recused himself from the committee because his child was applying. So, I'm not sure exactly how much "influence" he has in the selection, especially given that the committee doesn't see names. |
This was discussed multiple times here. Read up-thread. Put some effort into it if you are really interested. |
If the poster means aside from rumor, then the answer is not on the thread, |
If you are that dense no one can help you. |
Everyone in RM knows his child applied and knows how vindictive he is after he dismissed the previous coordinator in a made-up issue (which was proven to be false during inquiry later). So, even if he is recused, there is enough influence exists. As far as "the committee does not see names" goes, this is not true. |
+1 I have read the entire thread. I haven't read any facts. Just rumors. |

If you read the lawsuit, you would also have seen that the coordinator had issues as well. From what I have read (of course, which I cannot find now), the committee does not see the names. |
Usually... but we don't know exactly why they are leaving. Just lots of rumors on here. |
Or just someone quietly smoking a cigarette.. |
I have read the lawsuit and also been through all of the drama that the admin created. She was not flawless - but she was a tireless & unapologetic supporter of the magnet IB program and kids in RM. She was bullied and dismissed vindictively. MCPS sided with the principal because he was supporting/implementing their agenda! |
| If you have (or had recently ) kids in the program, it’s no surprising they are leaving. If you don’t, you would not understand how badly he hates the program. And that’s not a rumor. It’s an experience. |
That was an eye opening read...so much that parents are not aware of behind the scenes. |
