Turkey just released the American pastor. Erdogan is cozying up to Trump for support in Erdogan’s feud with the Saudis. Such geopolitical high school drama!!

Money and oil, though that is redundant.

Ai, lol, such earnestness. Did you know we supply intelligence to the Saudis that allowed them to unleash famine and cholera on thousands of Yemeni children? Why would we do that? Yet we do. Hmmm.

That's hilarious - all that happened here is proof the Sauds can be brutal people, even to their own. Holding a green card does not make him American; it makes him a Saud with a green card. He chose to go back to Turkey and go into the Saud embassy. He knew the risks.

He didn't have a green card.

The more pertinent question is: why does the US think it can hold KSA accountable for what it does with its citizens in a third country? For what ANY country does with its citizens anywhere? In what way is the US a party to these events? In other words, what is a good response to the Saudis saying - what's it to you? I know Halloween is coming but the global policeman costume has been fraying at the seams for quite some time, and it seems no one is particularly frightened.

Why would DHS tell the president he has a green card? He lived in Virginia. What does it even matter where he lived?. We can’t allow thuggish regimes to go around the world committing murder. The Saudis get away with so much because of their money. Trump and Kushner are ideal marks for crooks like the Saudis. That’s why Trump visited them first.

Jared delivers US Intel to KSA and MSB.

Was Jamal on that list?

If so, he should get the Rosenberg treatment.

Yes, not only do we help them in their war with Yemen, we don't really do much to get them up to speed on flying fighter jets. A lot of the work in KSA is outsourced, including the war. Lots of on-Saudis sitting in cockpits is how the KSA wages war.

That's right, and every so often KSA tries to talk the US into invading Iran. Chew on this, reflect on how America's "trusted ally" wants to use its military as a mercenary force.

That's kind of silly, seeing as MBS was fully aware of Khashoggi's actions. The man wrote for a global newspaper, it's not like he was passing notes in the hallway.

True. They're also aiding terrorists in Yemen. But all of a sudden their horrible behavior is Trump's fault.

Not Trump's fault, but Trump is a contributing factor. Who do you think is supplying Saudi Arabia with the weapons they are using in Yemen? The US military is even aiding the attacks.

That all started before Trump took office. Obama was just as guilty of the Yemen slaughter. I despise Trump as much as anyone but the Yemen war was something he inherited, not created.

And don't forget the squashing of the Bahrain uprising, where the majority asked for more input into the government only to be crushed by the minority government.

The buck stops with him now. He owns this. Obama owns his 8 years. Trump owns his time in office.

That's true but do admit that Trump gets way more shit for the very same things Obama did with little notice. Agree or not?

The Kingdom is just that. The King ordered the death of one of his subjects.

Western governments *never* do that? Or do it seldomly?

It's just so confusing.

Get over it.

And you have no idea how true that is. This is a country NAMED for its rulers.
