How democracy dies:
Voting on secret bills Packing courts with extremely unqualified judges Attacking free press Corporations running Internet Mass voter suppression Gerrymandering Hacking elections |
By George, you're right!!! The republic is saved. GOP sucks |
Fake news. You troll. |
Listen, you have to stop attacking Obama and his administration. This is really unfair. |
JCT report on the GOP Tax Bill is far worse than anyone could have expected and yet, somehow, the GOP in the Senate will still pass it.
Horrid. I never want to hear the GOP talk about fiscal restraint ever again. |
Just out from Wash Post:
Senate GOP tax bill would add $1 trillion to the deficit, Congress’ analysts conclude https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/2017/11/30/c2118302-d5e7-11e7-a986-d0a9770d9a3e_story.html?pushid=5a20749bb0a05c1d00000075&tidr=notifi_push_breaking-news&utm_term=.d8ede43abc02 |
Absolutely brutal. Is there one credible report that backs the economic claims of the GOP or Trump? |
Republicans have zero fiscal responsibility.
And Mitch McConnell is going down as the worst Senate President ever for shepherding through this piece of crap AND being a toady to Trump demagoguery. |
My only consolation is that he will probably be ousted by the Bannonites and will have to sit cheek and jowl with his good friend and teen dater Roy Moore. |
It's passing. The filthy rich stay WINNING. |
They don't care. The higher deficit will be their excuse to cut Medicare and SS - that's always been the plan. |
It was always only about killing the estate tax.
Suckers. This passes, winning potus netted the Trump clan $1 billion PLUS. ![]() |
His sons aren't very good looking. But I guess one only has to look at the dad. |
So this latest JCT analysis is a “dynamic “ score. Their original estimate was that the Senate plan would add $1.4 trillion to cumulative deficits. This estimate is assuming GDP will grow by an additional 0.8% on average which will bring in additional revenues. I think this is a pretty optimistic estimate of additional growth especially when you consider our demographic challenges (aging workforce). So it looks like the Corker trigger might be used heavily. What a mess |
Democrats just offered an amendment to ensure corporations use their tax savings to raise employee wages at the same rate they increase executive pay, stock buybacks and dividends to shareholders.
Every single Republican voting, voted NO. |
