Me too. Any lip, and I will seriously cut you!

And could someone please direct me to the thread where we scold non-Christians for celebrating Christmas because I need to give them a piece of my mind.

I am a non-Christian. Could you please tell me what I shouldn't do? Is it wrong for me to celebrate Christmas or to not celebrate Christmas?

If you are a non-Christian, why do you celebrate the birth of Christ?

I don't celebrate Christmas. I just wanted to know what the PP (you?) was scolding me for. I couldn't figure it out from the PP's post.

I am a liberal atheist and i hate the "happy holidays" generic bullshit. I love Christmas.

I am an atheist whom celebrates Christmas, but I also like and respect the other religious holidays of the season. I just love holidays and will typically wish you a happy holiday!

Perhaps Santa will still give you a book on English grammar emphasizing the use of objective pronouns.

Why would the default be to wish anybody a merry Christmas, except people who identify themselves as people who don't want to be wished a merry Christmas? It seems to me that the more sensible default would be not to wish anybody a merry Christmas, except people who identify themselves as people who want to be wished a merry Christmas (for example, by wearing a reindeer-horn hat, or a festive Christmas sweater).

What about a halo,of sanctimony?

I wear a Christmas sweater, put small wreaths on all our cars, decorate our home to the nines, tip everyone who is kind everywhere I go, try to smile and be happy and cheerful and kind and let people in front of me if they are rushing, allow drivers to cut in front without losing it and yes do often say merry Christmas just to be kind and holiday minded not for any other reason.

If someone has a problem with that, they are just unhappy and looking for something to bitch about and I feel bad for them. Get over this nonsense and enjoy the beauty of this wonderful holiday!

Who gives a crap? Nobody cares - say Merry Christmas or don't. Don't be offended, though, if I wish you a Good Shabbos or a Happy Hanukkah. What a bunch of nonsense. I wish all these people who are so hysterical about someone saying (or NOT saying) Merry Christmas would put their energy to use for good.

Moreover, how would Jesus perceive you?

As a warrior for Christ?

Or as an unyielding, obsessive harpy using Jesus as an excuse?

What have you done for Jesus today?
Given up your possessions -- including the computer, cell phone or iPad you perpetuate this thread on -- to give all your $$ to the poor and follow him?

Somehow, I doubt it.

I believe in Jesus, OP, I just don't believe in you.

Sappy and silly.....was that meant to be a powerful sermon? Not OP

& you don't think getting hysterical about "Merry Christmas" is sappy and silly?

Were you meant to give me a powerful sermon? Incapable.

Amen!

I really don't care if anyone wishes me a Merry Christmas or not. I don't get offended if they do, although I don't celebrate it. But I find this notion that Christmas is being stifled to be utterly absurd and infuriating. When radios start playing Christmas music after Halloween, Christmas is alive, well, and taking over. A far cry from being persecuted.

I just said God Bless you to the pizza deliverer.

Why?

Me too.

If I want to wish a "Merry Christmas" to someone, I will do it however I like.

I agree...Life has gotten way more P.C. in recent years and I always feel as if I just want to keep certain traditions just.

It's not like the people I say this to will be utterly offended.

Why on earth would you say Merry Christmas to someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas?

This has nothing to do with being PC; rather, it's just commonsense and accuracy. Do you want people to wish you happy Kwanzaa? Or Happy Hanukah? Of course not. So perhaps aim for *accuracy* and only say Merry Christmas to Christians.

Candidly, I plan to wish glad tidings to you and your kin...I feel like it covers everyone.

+ 1

It's about accuracy.

Do you wish Happy Mothers Day to single, childless men? No. Then why say Merry Christmas to people who don't celebrate Christmas? It makes you look stupid...very, very stupid.
