I really don't think people have a problem with Christmas or any other holiday greeting. I think it's all over hyped the the media. If some one told me Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza or Happy Hanukkah I wouldn't be upset. I think it's nice. They are celebrating something and are happy about it. ok.

I think I actually expect to hear Merry Christmas. If someone wished it to me (in Dec) I would not think they are trying to shove their religion down my throat but they are extending a greeting with a holiday sentiment.
Admittedly if someone told me happy Kwanzaa or Happy Hannukah I would think they have an agenda or are just super self righteous.
Sorry but that is how I feel. I know not all will agree but to me, Merry Christmas seems generic and acceptable to say to everyone.
