Yes, Dec. 25th is Christmas and until a few years ago it was considered a holiday that everyone enjoyed taking part in even small ways for non Christians like enjoying the decorations,etc......it is a beautiful holiday and there is nothing at all wrong with wishing someone Merry Christmas.

+1000000 It really is a beautiful holiday. I am so tired of those who do not celebrate being so negative. I would never be negative about their beliefs or observed holidays.

Tell that to all the people upset over Montgomery county schools accommodating Eid into their school year. It's more than a few. There are grinches for every holiday...this was the case years ago as well.

Well that's just befuddling.

Why on earth would you say Merry Christmas to someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas?

This has nothing to do with being PC; rather, it's just commonsense and accuracy. Do you want people to wish you happy Kwanzaa? Or Happy Hanukah? Of course not. So perhaps aim for *accuracy* and only say Merry Christmas to Christians.

Candidly, I plan to wish glad tidings to you and your kin...I feel like it covers everyone.

Hell yeah, screaming Merry Christmas full of indignation and bitterness truly spreads the love, and pleases Jesus. Merry Christmas to ALL you idiots who think it's a "happy holiday."

I like the new Starbucks cup design...much more modern than some tacky christmas drawing. Especially after seeing what Dunkin donuts came up with. To each their own, I just prefer clean aesthetics.

Merry Christmas is right wing PC crap.

I'm as Jewish as they come, and my response when someone wishes me Merry Christmas is...

"Thanks! You too!"

Life is too short to argue with people when they're actually being kind.

You say Merry Christmas to me, and I will wish you a Happy Kwanzaa in return.

I just respond with "Allahu Akbar"...because I'm sure everyone agrees that god is great, especially on a religious holiday.

OP can you please give some examples? I don't understand what there is to be so sick of. Did you have a boss who forbade saying Merry Christmas? Or were you asked not to say it by a store manager or something? I'm seriously just trying to know if this is a real thing that exists outside of Fox News.

OP, if your "merry christmas" is tinged with spite than that doesn't really seem in line with Jesus' message.

I don't see how you write in all caps that you've had enough and then say you are spreading cheer.

It's that kind of hypocrisy that has made me really dislike the holiday. Well, that and the consumerism, the focus on superficial things (like decorations, half of which don't really have anything to do with Christ anyway) and surface-level kindness.

Saying "Merry Christmas" in a spiteful way to someone you know does not celebrate the holiday or is of a different religion is mean-spirited.

But do whatever you want. Don't expect me to buy your BS excuse that someone is stopping you from spreading good will.
