highly regarded charter school not the best thing since sliced bread

This is HRCS, because it may or may not snow tomorrow we are letting you know to stay tuned that we may or may not announce somewhere that we may or may not close school.

Say tuned.

But, HRCS, since I caught pneumonia waiting in the line to register for your lottery and had to pay someone to maintain my spot while I was admitted to the hospital and then I found out regardless there is no chance for PS3 and then found out the person I paid let someone pay them to cut in line ahead of me and now my waitlist number is 7 and there is also no chance I will get in anyways, can you ask the common lottery people to extend the deadline since the entire internet may shutdown if it snows tomorrow? Since I will now be so reliant on the common lottery along with everyone else? Since I won't be able to get in HRCS?

You should try to become a "new founder" at HRCS.

You are so right! Thanks.

My child has known they wanted to attend HRCS since before conception, so they would be SO disappointed not to be able to continue in their target language and also (if they offer this, who can research it all) target meditation/ interpretive (sp?) dance.

Why leave DC's education up to a public, common lottery?

I just got an email from HRCS: Because of the threat of snow, school is closed TODAY, 3/2/14. Glad they let me know! We've been outside the school since 8:30am wondering why no one is here to let us in, it's like everyone's in a secret classroom or something!

The HRCS lottery is tomorrow! I am sure that I will have a greater chance of getting in if I go, and the greatest chance of all if I bring my toddler. I know it's right during his nap time, but it's worth it to get into the school, right?

That is SO HRCS! Only HRCS toddlers nap at 7:00pm!

HRCS parent here. Our kids don't nap at school or in the extended day program because there is just so much to LEARN. The exception is that if three and four year olds are dreaming in Klington, then they are allowed to nap.

My child already dreams in Klingon. It is SO UNFAIR that there is not Klingon preference for the lottery.

I am on the wait list. I thought that having quadruplets would help me get my kids accepted. So devastated. Does anyone know if the wait list moves at all or is everyone who isn't accepted wait listed?

Thanks in advance for your helpful replies. I can't take any snark after receiving this horrible news.

I heard that last year, they actually went negatively into the waitlist. In other words, they took away spots from some people admitted in the initial lottery later in the year. I think it had something to do with the new founder with twins.

It's too bad you only have quadruplets. Quintuplets or higher would give you more shots at the lottery.

Wait, I thought HRCS had snark as a target language, was misinformed by an anonymous website?

Klingon is definitely the target language, but I think it is exploring offering snark as a third language starting in second grade.

So glad we agree!
