I was not impressed by Highly Regarded Charter School. Even though it is an immersion school, I did not leave the open house fluent in the target language. I got a weird vibe, which I refuse to explain further. Also, the open house was after dinner, but did not provide any dessert.

I saw you at the open house, 12:13. You got a weird vibe because it was obvious to all of us that you and your family are not good enough to attend Highly Regarded Charter School. Take the vibe as a message and focus on the lottery. |
You're so crazy OP! I went to the open house at Highly Regarded Immersion Charter School, and I could barely speak English when I arrived but by the time I took a bathroom break, I could speak English AND the charter language well enough to post to Facebook from the toilet in the new language!
Also, my child didn't attend with me but when I got home, he could speak the charter's language too!!! It's astonishing. It's better than sliced bread, and I am sending my child next week to a child labor camp in a country that speaks that charter's language so that when they change the later admissions laws, my child will speak the language fluently and get in! And why isn't anyone mentioning the unicorns and fairies that sang for us as we were leaving? That was pretty cool too. |
Don't worry. You won't get in. |
This thread is making my day. Thank you, OP! |
I also didn't like Highly regarded Charter School. The principal sneezed during the presentation, she soured me on the school. Also, I sense that the school doesn't like my race. |
Whatever, OP. You know your timestamp is so far back you have no chance, so now you come here and try to trash us? Pathetic. |
I am very concerned that a lifetime right to Highly Regarded Charter school did not come with the deed to my home I purchased in January 2014. I believe that this could be resolved by allowing all of my future children to attend, should your charter's test scores continue to climb. |
I have tried standing in line outside Highly Regarded Charter School to get on their waitlist today, but there was no line. Has the lottery been cancelled? |
I didn't get into HRCS last year, so obviously it is not as great as everyone says it is. In fact, anyone that goes to HRCS is just feeding into the system by not going to their IB school.
HRCS is a terrible program and we should get rid of all charterschools. Wait, I just found out I got into HRCS off the wait list... HRCS RULES!!!! |
I attended the HRCS Open House too and was really disappointed in the low percentage of white, non-Black, non-Hispanic, non-Asian, non-FARMS children attending the school. How ever will my snowflake hit in? Who will she play "disney princess" with in school. She can't possibly relate to "those" kids.
BTW--We are a Black and Hispanic family. |
I tried finding Highly Regarded Charter School on myskool.org but the site was less informative than I expected. |
Is Highly Regarded Charter School full immersion, or just immersion? Also, what is my child going to be immersed in? |
Immersion? As in baptism? SIGN ME UP. PRAISE THE LORD. |
I felt that at the open house, they didn't address the needs of kids that were part Afro-Caribian-American-Indian-Pacific-Island-Jewish-Catholic-French-Cajun-ESL. I don't think it's a very inclusive school. |
