Are you under the impression that the fights against racism and for reproductive rights have concluded? That's cute. Really. Do you still cuddle with your My Little Pony every night? Bake in your Holly Hobby oven?
There are a lot of jokes about how the South is still fighting the Civil War, but they're just, well, jokes. Attempts to be funny. But a significant portion of the Republican Party is STILL under the impression that the battle over reproductive rights is still underway. That's not a joke, and it sure as hell ain't funny.
Now I'm not a single issue voter, but combine the above with the fact that Romney claims that you can cut the deficit while lowering taxes and not touching defense spending (thereby demonstrating that he's either a pandering liar or hasn't mastered 3rd grade math), his economic "plan" is composed entirely of platitudes, every nonpartisan group that has looked at his economic plan has pronounced it lunacy, and he pledges to repeal Obamacare and replace it with . . . shh, it's a secret . . . well, the answer is clear. Combine that with the insanity that would emanate from the GOP controlled House, with potentially no reatraining force if the GOP takes the Senate, and it's not even close.
You say, "It can't be worse than Obama."
I say, yes. Yes it can.
