Poors, you are being trolled. Kids are not encouraged to āhang outā at country clubs. It's not the YMCA. They may be there to use the weight room but there is a reason people pay for country clubs and the atmosphere, and itās not so it can be used as a playground or a teen hangout spot. - signed member |
The Palisades is a mess. Main roads are fine but we canāt get off our block. Our car is snowed in. |
By hang out, that means doing specific indoor activities with coaching and direct supervision, along with grabbing food from the restaurant. Yes, this isnāt the YMCA and we pay for the amenities like athletic training. |
| Any decisions yet? |
What on Earth are full-pay poors? |
Newsflash, most admin don't make more than $90k. Sure there are some key positions who do, but not most. So you are correct: not many of your schools's employees live near your school. |
Then shovel yourself out? |
Thanks witch |
So why didnāt you just say that? And Iām embarrassed for you that you felt the need to bring your country club into discussions aboutā¦checks notesā¦school cancellation. Itās tacky and you sound like a striver. Money canāt buy you class. -country club member |

I walked past the kids' elementary school on my way home. Part of the sidewalk is a little icy but generally safe. Wisconsin is open. The Wisconsin sidewalk is generally safe, except that you have to walk slowly over the bumps of snow. Buses are running. Many kids are out. It is a beautiful day. At least for Northwest schools, Janney, Mans, Hearst, and Murch, I don't see how it is dangerous to go to school tomorrow. I also don't get it, maybe I am naive, why can't each school make its own call? Is it because most teachers and stuff live in the burbs and rely on cars? Is it a liability issue? |
| Our school says they do not specifically follow any school district decision. |
My elementary-age kids go to one of those schools and have been walking there since yesterday to meet up with friends! Our car got plowed in, which was annoying, but it wasn't that hard to shovel it out. All to say, we probably could have had school today even and been fine ... |
You can walk what about the employees who must drive. Congrats on your area being clear. Itās amazing to think that others have not been touched at all. |
Well what are your kids doing while off school? The tennis courts are busy today. |
