41, spouse is 45. I launched my own business a few years and that's when things really started to get going in terms of income. Before that we combined made less than $750K; now we clear closer to $4M between us and we both work extremely hard.
We have $3.5M saved across retirement, brokerage, and our kids' 529. Hoping to beef this up but have spent a lot of money in the last two years on major house renovations. We have $1.5M left on a mortgage on our primary residence, which is probably worth about $4M now conservatively, maybe even closer to $5M. We have an $800,000 mortgage on a second home that is worth $2M+ now. So probably conservatively another $3.5M in home equity. Consider myself extremely lucky and don't take any of it for granted. |
