Do most premeds apply to school of health or arts and sciences?
My son looked at this a lot before he applied to school of health. There are pros and cons. The pros are a smaller major with very supportive staff that knows a lot about how to get the kids the research and recommendations you need for medical school applications. It is a very close knit group. They also save you spots in chem and bio so you don't have trouble getting the classes you need. A slam dunk if you ask me. On the other hand, you are required to take very specific courses on a specific schedule. CAS don't have to take a treacherous research class first semester (I actually don't think they have to take it at all). School of health also requires chem and bio the first semester - whereas some prefer to ease in with one of the two as they adjust to college life, which can be done in CAS. I think acceptance rates are similar - both to get into Georgetown and to get into Med School.
