Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
If you'd allow this, who is to say the next school over is good enough? Maybe the parents should demand that their kid go across the county. This argument doesn't make sense. If all schools have the equal offerings, the smart poor kid should be fine at Herndon. |
Good for you, that’s really great. Please don’t misrepresent my argument which is all students should be able to apply to a public school of their choice within the system in which they live. |
Hyperbole. Sure, some smart kids are successful at Herndon. However, if a family doesn’t think it’s the right environment they should be able to apply to any public school in the district in which they live. |
| If you think there are “haves” and “have nots” now the issue only gets worse with school choice. |
You do know that redlining was the act of depriving communities of resources, right? That’s why I posted the Title I page for FCPS. It talks about the additional resources that flow to title I schools. You started your response to that with “Nope.” That’s why you aren’t a serious person. Anyway, I have proved my point, you’ve proven literally nothing, and no matter the evidence, all you say is “prove it” like you’re Judge Judy. I think I’ve wasted enough time with this little social thought experiment of yours, and I’m quite confident that it’ll never happen, so you’ll just have to go on asking for “proof” indefinitely. You and RFK Jr should team up, eh? |
And it’s about access. Redlining kept certain people out of certain neighborhoods. School zones keep certain students out of certain schools. |
