How honest are you with self-checkout?

It's not stealing to offer you an option.

They real theft is making pick up our items from the shelf like a common stock clerk! At a proper general store, the clerk fetches your items for you. Self-shopping yhe aisle is trashy.

I scan every item at self check out but if I notice that the cashier failed to scan the items in the bottom of my cart after I specifically mentioned they were there, I say nothing.

Unless if it's the really old guy or the guy who I'm pretty sure is on the spectrum. They are my favorites and I don't want them to get into trouble.

You should have gone back and paid for it you scum.

One time I went to the liquor store, bought a $100 worth of wine and the store clerk failed to do the last step so it never went on my card. When I noticed I went back told them what happened and paid for my stuff. It was their fault but I drank the wine and of course I should pay for it. That’s what people with integrity do.

Criminals think it's funny when you get offended by their behavior.

The attendent tried to physically stop me to pay 5 cents as I walked out. I told him to f u ck off and call the police. There are plenty of men out there that would have dropped him the moment he put hands on them for a nickel. Hes lucky I'm not one of them.

I called the store once back at work and told the manager the story; he aplogized and promised that wasnt policy. I still told him they will never see another dime from me.

Why did you mark zero bags?

I would be a trash person in the eyes of my spouse, my kids, my parents, my family, friends & acquaintances and myself if I was not honest.

Don't want to accumulate bad karma and sin

100% believe that one day stores will be able to catch such wrong doings and people will lose face, reputation, jobs, money and freedom.

I mean nobody's perfect. People cheat lie and steal or do worse. Or are you saying youve never lied?

Of course - there are cameras and weight sensors.

So you stole the 5 cent bag. That's so stupid.

Regarding not paying for the bags, I don't grocery shop enough that I've dealt with this. I do know that several stores always charge for bags even though shoppers bring their own. If someone put their hands on me over a bag, I'd have their job. All of these large companies do not want their employees to act like prison guards. Poster above I would have gotten the name of the person and contacted corporate.

Do you jerks understand how narrow margins are at grocery stores? Pay for the bag

The stores don't want to charge it. The city or county wants that $0.05. You are hurting whatever program that fee supports.

Is this really a thing that adults do? Teenagers, sure, but adults?

I’d honestly rather do it myself vs waiting in a line. I’ll do whichever one is faster.

Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching.

I am not a thief. I have integrity. These are facts about me.

They are watching. Most stores have cameras and employees in the scanning area. Plus a lot of grocery stores use weight to ensure it was scanned.

Why are ppl so proud or righteous about refusing to pay for the plastic bags?

It is $0.05. Why make a scene over $0.05. If you don’t want to pay for it, bring your own. It is not rocket science.
