How honest are you with self-checkout?

It feels like I am being teachers pet because I scan everything but I’m constantly surprised by adults who don’t scan every item.

Be honest. Are you scanning all the groceries/items? This includes being honest on the number of bags you are using.

I dislike self-checkout with the heat of a thousand suns, so full checkout where possible, and yes to scanning all items when only self-checkout is available.

Walmart especially at first, but other grocers now, use A.I. facial recognition software to build a database on self-checkout users.

Once a person has accumulated enough theft to reach felony levels, they are sometimes prosecuted for cumulative shoplifting.

If I legitimately get one of those prompts like “please scan again” or whatever, and I’ve already bagged it, I don’t rescan and just move on. Not my problem. If the pull me, I’ll just pretend I was confused.

Yes we scan every item correctly. I believe we are also honest about bags used but if it’s 6 instead of 5 I’m not going to stress about that.

Of course OP. Yes I pay for bags and I wouldn’t dream of stealing something at self checkout. Were you raised by wolves?

Why would you steal groceries? It's not an accident. Can you not figure out the scanner? More pressingly, are you too stupid to realize there are cameras, both on the general area, and often in the machines themselves?

You'll think this is a big ol' nothingburger until Palantir gets involved...

100% honest at checkout. And I always put my shopping cart in the cart stall. Anything else is sh!tty.

Agree on both fronts. I make too much money to worry about cheating a grocery store out of <$5. I'm surprised anyone would do this.

I’m not gonna lie at worse I’ll do the bags. Some times I’ll grab a second bag after the fact or click zero out of habit and don’t go and change. Never actual items though.
