The planners have considered and acknowledged some streets will need to be repaired post-parade. I haven’t seen info about how long those repairs will take or which streets will be involved but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I think they realize that. I hope I’m being paranoid, but a day that involves lots of MAGAs, military forces assembled at the whims of the Commander in Chief, lots of African Americans and allies— all celebrating different types of freedoms in close proximity to each other — feels like a set-up by an administration eager to impose martial law. I truly hope I’m wrong, but I can’t not see it this way.

I may go to one of the smaller gatherings, and will probably celebrate Juneteenth on the actual day — instead of going to the NMAAHC program’s scheduled for Saturday.

They are heavy enough that this won't be an issue.

They are heavy enough that this won't be an issue.

I think tanks can roll through lightening, but individual soldiers marching with guns would not be a good idea. Hopefully commanders will be able to stand up to King Don and say “this is not safe for the trooos.” I’m sure there’s already military folks that this is an idiotic idea but are biting their tongues to save their careers.

The guns and ammunition will be heavy enough to keep the soldiers from lightening. They're in no danger of floating away.
