No more excuses.

It's been working fine for 250 years. Literally only Trump and his MAGA cult followers have an issue with this.

No, it hasn't been working fine.

Yes, it has. There is no proof that undocumented people are voting in any numbers that would sway an election. In fact, most of the voter fraud that is documented has been by republicans. See Meadows, Mark as a prime example.

That excuse is crap. If ONE noncitizen votes in our elections, that is one too many.
I will remind you that 10 years ago, a race in VA was decided by drawing a name out of a hat because the election ended in a tie.

So to stop your ONE noncitizen from voting, its worth disenfranchising 10 million US citizens who don't have the appropriate documents? You are a fking moron.

Disenfranchising millions has always been the point. "Illegals voting" was just a ruse allalong.

Get the appropriate documents if you care to vote. It’s that’s simple.

Your feelings do not override legitimate voting.

You know what? Go eff off.

I am 100% sure you are a smug white man. As a married woman I should not have to carry a birth certificate, marriage certificate, driver's license and passport to vote. Suck a big one.

You’re right, your feelings don’t override legitimate voting. That’s why your feeling that “illegals” are voting en masse in federal elections, something that is not demonstrated by even the slightest amount of evidence, is not enough to override the constitutional rights of everyone else.

Grow up. You are a sore loser who would rather disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of people than accept that people in a democracy might not vote for the shambling corpse of the Republican party led by your orange sac of pus. Everyone on the planet knows it. Even you.

What you are saying is crap and let's cut the crap and say the the GOP/MAGA is running scared that they will not be able to win a future election without cheating and creating chaos at the polls. It's all you magas do is sow chaos and division in America.

FU. Getting those documents is not easy or cheap. And it disproportionately affects women and the poor, which is the point no doubt.

Republicans INVENTED voting by mail because it was better for their older voters. The extent to which they shoot themselves in the foot prostrating to Trump’s dumb BS is ludicrous.

Trump is now attempting to guilt Senate Democrats into voting for the act by...checks notes...renaming it the "Save America" act and daring them to be against saving America. Unreal.

Can’t remember exactly where, but recently a podcaster mentioned that her reporting on the whole 2020 stolen election BS is that if only the votes of whites had counted, then Trump would have won. That’s the America MAGA and Project 2025 want.

Keep in mind, folks, back last summer the State Department laid off 1300 people whose job was to issue passports.

Now their solution to the SAVE Act is just get a Passport? Really?

Kind of like how they laid off all the people at CISA whose job was to protect against foreign interference in elections. Everyone can see what they’re trying to pull.

Just renewed my passport. Took way less time than they had said to allow. Filled form out and sent it by mail with tracking. Did not pay for it to be expedited.

And, if you were born here, why would you need a passport?

This Rep from Michigan just said the dumbest thing: that you have to change the name on your birth certificate.
Not true.

Some women do not change their names--no problem.
If you have a Social Security card and want to change your name, you provide a marriage certificate. This is not hard.

Do you ever want to receive Social Security? You need ID. Medicaid? ID. Welfare? ID Ever get on an airplane? ID.

This is a totally bogus attack.

Do better.

And, if you want to vote here and were not born here, you must surely have your naturalization papers.

This is a ridiculous argument.

It is absolutely true that married women who took their husbands name will not be able to vote under the SAVE Act without documentation and remediation. Please stop telling us that is a lie. It isn't.

Are any of these things codified in the Constitution as a fundemental right? No? Then not the same.

and...if one has to pay for an ID as mandatory to vote, then it is a poll tax, which is illegal. So unless the GOP wants to fund everyone being able to get an ID for free, then it is a non-starter. Why won't the GOP allow those funds as has been asked time and time again in exchange for a voter ID law?
