I'm loving this bigly beautiful circular firing squad. Please continue. ![]() Dump Chuck! Dump CHUCK! DUMP CHUCK!! |
It’s this. It’s every ahole here who supported the machinations to kneecap Sanders in the primary in 2016 and to repeat that in Iowa (f you forever, Buttigieg and Lis Smith, you’ll never be President nor manage a winning presidential campaign, hope it was worth it) in 2020. It’s calling me, a minority woman and lifelong Dem who lives close to Schumer, names like Bernie Bro and insisting I betrayed Hillary in the general and that never objecting to the overall corporate slant of the platform meant I was the enemy. People IRL and all over this board decided insulting “the left” meant big wins, when some of the most progressive policies and incisive moves ever made were done by LBJ, a nasty cheating white man. It became so important to support HRC no matter what, because Sanders was too old and weird. It became an issue of comity and taking turns, and not ideas. And it isn’t fixable because we don’t have the critical mass to inspire excellent progressive candidates. The party itself INCLUDING younger members of color like Jaime Harrison insist on treating people like Rep Tlaib or young voters like shit on their shoes. We’re on fire because of post-Reagan republicanism. But we can’t counter it because the Schumers have made every forking deal to stomp out every more progressive candidacy on a national level. The call has been coming from inside the house for forever. |
Schumer and Gillibrand are in Wall Street and Israel’s pocket. A shut down is actually devastating for those interests since money won’t be going out.
Vote no and force the Republicans to nuke cloture for budgets. |
Chuckle loves his cheap low wage migrants Still having h1b lottery next week as hundreds of thousands of Americans are fired But we have a worker shortage and billionaires to make richer |
People are delusional if they think the courts will stop Trump! The courts have no enforcement. The U.S. Marshals are under DOJ and Bondi isn’t going to let them enforce court orders. |
The fact of the matter is that the harder & faster the shutdown, the quicker people outside DC will pay attention and feel the effects of their dumb vote in November.
Hence why No on the CR makes the most sense. People need to snap to attention and passing the CR just gives Trump more power through legal means. It’s just delaying the inevitable. Americans collectively need to get hit on the head ASAP. |
This is unintelligible. If this is what we democrats sound like, then no wonder we have a messaging problem. |
Omg you idiot GOP has House and Senate majority. It's why really effectively Trump has power. I'm not sure why you don't see Congress is in his pocket? That's the whole point Chuck doesn't want to shut down cause why knows when you can reopen you idiot!! |
Why are people mad at Schumer? He is providing cover for Dems who do not want to shut down the government.
It's not like Republicans are at 59 votes and Schumer decides it. |
That’s rude. Congress has power, although both sides seem to be forgetting it. The GOP needs the votes. They also need to grow some balls. Everyone needs to remember that Congress has power. They shut it down and open it. |
This! |
When is the vote happening? Have any other dems besides Fetterman and Schumer said they will vote yes? |
The vote was supposed to start between 2 and 3. Right now, Senator Paul is complaining about it - but nothing has happened yet. |
Seth Levy wrote that Paul and Massie would have lost the war for independence. This time Trump got about half a dozen people who always voted no on CRs to vote yes, and left Democrats scrambling. |
+1000 times! Hopefully real people will rise up and replace Schumer with AOC in the primaries. I am so sick of the democrats who attack progressive and wonder why Trump wins. |
