I have kids in school and aside from teachers telling kids to respect other kids that might be nonbinary or trans, there has been ~zero~ mention of anything gender related. And this is in DC and in MCPS, two wildly lefty areas.

There have been a number of Fairfax County School Board meeting discussing this and voting on policies that they teach about it and support it. The resistance has been from the occasional parent who speaks less than 2 minutes about it during their "citizen participation."
It was a topic during the Family Life Education curriculum approval. The School Board appointed a trans woman to the FLE committe, and they also have several gay rights activists on the committee. This is documented.

Nancy Mace is rude and brings shame upon the office she holds. No one should speak that way about their constituents.

I’m not interested in worrying about what families are deciding in private. The government needs to get out of medical decisions. And I’d be willing to bet that any parent whose child is dealing with this stuff is doing a lot of thoughtful research and having serious conversations with their child and doctors. Who am I to judge?

Children, to the extent that they are getting any gender affirming care, are doing so with a ton of doctors and with parental approval. Those people are not in a cult. They are doing what has been felt best for their children.
