What colleges do you have negative associations with and why?

Sandusky scandal = agree on Penn State. Frankly, it's the only college I have a negative association with. DC can apply anywhere else but there.

I went to PSU freshman year and hated it. Really bad social experience. Not intellectual at all. Too much football and drinking. No respect for liberal arts majors. Bad advising. Bad roommate. Poor dorm management. I feel entitled to my negativity.

Professors and classes were fine. Grounds were pleasant.

I summed it up as a camp for middle-class white kids who were just happy to escape their parents and get drunk a lot without any hassles.

Virginia Tech:
due to too many work friends having had children attend and graduate not able to find a fulltime job within the first 12 months after graduation. The one out of 4 who got a job right away did engineering there and said it was much easier than the prep school. They were rejected ivies and WL UVa. They have a job at least, but it was not at all a challenging school and the parents believe it was a bit of a waste for their smart son. He got into McGill and they regret not sending there.

I think this about WVU because some drunken skank who was there with her young kids cursed out my teenage daughter just for sitting there in the opposing team’s gear. The verbal abuse was so nasty that even other WVU fans told her to stfu. My daughter was there with her father, who is a vet. It took everything in him not to choke this woman.

I will forever associate the school with that horrible townie who made my baby cry. I know it’s irrational, but…what kind of trash does this?

Every school with a big football program has "fans" like that.

I know it's dumb, but I laugh every time someone refers to Ole Miss as "Ole Piss."

Tulane, Wake, UMiami, and SMU all have a similar profile. I'm not sure what the proper term is.

Where did those smarmy, self-inflated cheaters from AP Euro go? i have, shall we say, rather negative associations with those schools. Where did that dumb af country-club jock who offered girls rides home then pulled over on a darkened road to assault them attend? Yeah, I dislike that school, too.

It’s so personal it’s not even worth mentioning the schools themselves.

Washington University in St. Louis, to answer your question.

complete baloney; some of the smartest docs I know went to WashU undergrad; they are not now nor have ever been cheaters .

PP was calling out HS grinds who cheated in AP Euro and I was just naming names. I’m sure there are plenty of great kids there but I have negative associations with both AP Euro and WashU because of that girl.

We’re not saying “everyone I know who ever went to school x sucks”, just sharing random negative associations.

Me: What a petty, gross, mean-spirited thread.

Also me: (Skims through whole discussion, happy that my kid's school isn't listed)

Senseless exercise.

Is anyone forcing you to post?

The most unethical, big scammer lawyer I have ever worked with went to Duke. Not a fan.

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford.

Look now many dbags they all produce that ruin the entire country. They're responsible for nearly alllll of the terrible politicians, awful wall street bankers that destroy everything with greed, and are pipelines for horrible consulting firms that gut middle class jobs and destroy everything they touch. Oh, and they're the universities that produce all of the greedy azzholes who work in private equity - the same morally bankrupt industry that is completely ruining healthcare in the country.

HYPS suck and produce the worst and greediest narcissists.

You forgot to add Penn/Wharton. But are otherwise on track.
