What colleges do you have negative associations with and why?

That is awful! What a crappy interviewer.

Where did those smarmy, self-inflated cheaters from AP Euro go? i have, shall we say, rather negative associations with those schools. Where did that dumb af country-club jock who offered girls rides home then pulled over on a darkened road to assault them attend? Yeah, I dislike that school, too.

It’s so personal it’s not even worth mentioning the schools themselves.

Washington University in St. Louis, to answer your question.

OMG. I feel like this is the type of conversation I would have with my son.

Me: So, what did you think?
Him: Nah.
Me: Anything in particular?
Him: kids are too tall.

I love these ones! Mine wasn’t nearly funny, but a school was ruled out due to excessive red brick.

Son ruled out "cream brick"

DH is the future version of your son and won’t move to Toronto or London because of the yellowish color of brick they sometimes use in those cities. He works for a multinational with the expectation of rotations through those cities.

I think this about WVU because some drunken skank who was there with her young kids cursed out my teenage daughter just for sitting there in the opposing team’s gear. The verbal abuse was so nasty that even other WVU fans told her to stfu. My daughter was there with her father, who is a vet. It took everything in him not to choke this woman.

I will forever associate the school with that horrible townie who made my baby cry. I know it’s irrational, but…what kind of trash does this?

This is weirdly irrelevant. (And I say this as a vet).

The townies at my son's school regularly call him the N-word. He's biracial, and in most places people think he's Italian/Greek/India. I mention that only becauase I suspect there are kids who fall into the above category getting the same from time to time.

BUT, I love the "Roll Tide" poster here. Those posts always make me laugh. Never stop, Roll Tide person!

It's funny until they put it in Teams chat during a work meeting. Might as well scream Booya!

Cornell University is an outstanding school, but several months during the academic year are overcast, dreary, cold, damp, and depressing. So, yes, weather can and often does affect one's impression of a school despite its otherwise stellar reputation.

The weather complaints get so old. All the Ivies used to be way more regional in terms of student admission and weather was not a big deal. My Cornell grandparents who grew up in NY never mentioned anything but winter fun.

Providence hasn’t been any colder than DC. It was 70s all of October. Climate change is real.

Brown. Used to think of it as a place for trust fund kids. Now think of it as the ultimate UMC striver school.

I realize these aren’t necessarily fair estimations, just being honest

Why do people start these moronic threads?

I mentioned it because he is your typical “tough guy” vet. This woman was lucky he restrained himself and didn’t put her in a chokehold.

I've actually thoroughly enjoyed this thread. I've learned a few things. Might need to pull some apps.
