Trump campaign death spiral

Criticize Trump's brain that is old, and has always had a personality disorder.

You don't need to mention Depends to talk about his feeble brain.

Are you saying that anyone with continence issues, say a 35 year old Rhodes scholar with a spinal injury, shouldn't be POTUS?

His schtick has really gotten old.

What’s most surprising is how much of a drag JD Vance is on the ticket.

He is not here to impress you, snowflake.

Isn’t he? Isn’t that how he’ll get people to vote for him?

I see a lot of “Cats for Kamala” signs.

Come on, I am no fan of Trump but making fun of the fact that he wears Depends (it’s an adult diaper) is not necessary. A lot of older people, especially those who are a little heavier, deal with bowel control challenges.

I agree that we should not be making fun of this fact. But it is important to note that we do NOT want a POTUS that is so old that they need Depends. Just what we need, a major international incident and the Commander-in-Chief has to leave the situation room to change his Depends.

POTUS is not a job for a senior. We just had one octogenarian step down from the running and we need the other one to be stepping down too. He is far too old for the job. It ages people quite a lot and frankly, he is neither physically or mentally strong enough to last for four years even if he is ready to go on day one. He is unlikely to be competent for the job when midterms roll around. We have to have a POTUS and Commander-in-Chief who can last all four years of his term. And frankly, Trump can not.

But the fact that President Trump, as many older people do, has trouble controlling his bowels (is incontinent) should not be a talking point against him.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I think highlighting his age is a very salient and important point and needs to be made and reiterated. He is too old to be President. This highlights his age and how inappropriate it is to put him into this job.

But the fact that he has trouble controlling his bowels (messing himself sometimes) is not always a factor of age. Maybe TMI, but sphincter-control/strength issues can hit all ages.

Not saying age isn’t the cause of it for President Trump (it may be) but feel like making light of it is inappropriate.

His numbers are better than Kamala's state by state.

Exactly. What are these people talking about? WaPo reported his lead in five of the seven swing states this morning. Harris lead I one and the last was 50/50 tie.

There are lots of polls, and more and more looking bad for Trump. This isn’t the race it was 30 days ago.

So sorry you have to lie when Harris is losing. Weird.

You can gaslight and cope here if you want. It really doesn’t change anything. Nobody’s bothered.

Harris is a toast.

Turning to false bravado already. You guys are in a worse spot than I thought.

He can’t win the election with MAGA alone. He needs to be doing more to pull in independents/moderates/undecideds. But I think that boat has sailed. He’s got what he’s got, and no more are coming.

+1. You cannot run for POTUS if you're under 35. There should also be an upper limit too. This is not a partisan issue, it's an issue of being physically and mentally able to handle a job that is nonstop stress, travel, and critical decision making.

The truth is that right now it's a very close race. Harris has the momentum, and Karl Rove predicted - correctly, I believe - that she would pull ahead in the coming weeks. But right now, no one knows who will win the election.

OK, but should President Trump’s challenges with bowel control, #2 or whatever you want to call it, be a political matter? Is that where we are?

He is old and suffering from a number of age-related physical and mental breakdowns, one of which is incontinence. I said above we should not be making light of it, but highlighting that it is one example that he is too old for the job, is valid. And since there are plenty of Republicans who are denying that he is too old for the job, then it is fair game to highlight (not to ridicule).

OK, but think of the embarrassment President Trump must feel when this happens, with the smell, the discomfort, the need to change garments, etc. It’s a shame so many people are willing to make light of this condition. Let’s stick to the issues.

Do you think Trump has the compassion to his competitors if they were so!tying in their pants? You know he wouldn’t

If course they do. The Maga cult is a stain for them. If they can get rid of him this year then they can focus on 2028 and returning the party to normalcy. They want to be able to run in 8 years of Democratic failures. They can't do any of that if he gets back in.

How is a "return to normalcy" going to work when the MAGA's won't support anyone other than Trump? It is a non-viable national party otherwise without significant changes in the platform, or you know, actually having a platform.

The GOP needs Trump permanently out of the political picture so that they have a chance to start repairing his damage and reclaiming these voters. Aside, there is no cult leader-in-waiting to take over. It'll take time.

What voters would "come back" to the GOP with this kind of message?
