Why can’t you understand that? The same way people denied he was deteriorating, they are denying his solid determination to stay in the race.

I agree with this, with one caveat: If national polls show a consistent double-digit lead for Trump post-debate, the calls for Biden to step down prior to the convention will become deafening. If Biden agreed to this, he would endorse Kamala Harris and the party would rally behind her because what choice would they have? She’s the sitting Vice-President and bypassing her for a white male or white female would obliterate the Democratic coalition. It would be a complete sh*tshow.

If Harris became the nominee at the convention, she would likely choose a well-known, probably white male VP. Well-known because there wouldn’t be time for a proper vetting. Maybe someone like Senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut.

And it would be a Reagan-like landslide for Trump if Democrats went with Kamala Harris. And they'd lose the Senate and the House would remain Republican.

So, you know, there's also that to consider.

Maybe yes, maybe no. But I would much rather take my chances with Harris over Whitmer/Newsom and a blown-up coalition.

just wish I could go back to my 4th grade self in 2008, cheering cause I was able to stay up till 11PM-12AM CAUSE THE First black President was election, and the next day in school teachers were talking to us our why today was so important. They took pictures of all with the front cover of the Washington Post...
Now 25 year old me, have to pick Biden, not excited about it need to stop Trump. I just want my future kids and grandkids to have more rights than I did not less.

Was Reagan a good President ? How did he win 48 states? He was the last President to support immigration reform.... but the tax cuts seems very unpopular now.
Obama is sitting down with Biden right now and trying to persuade him to step down. Michelle never wanted Biden to run. Obama took his time to support his VP the first time around, because the Obamas knew he wasn't at the top of his game. They're friends, but friends don't let friends cling to power past their prime...
And how do you know Michelle never wanted Biden to run in 2020? Is it because she’s holding a grudge about estrangement from their xDIL? None of her business really, and her support didn’t matter. Biden trumped Trump.

Trump is the GOP nominee. Trump isn't capable of a landslide victory. He has a good chance of beating Biden but he'd have zero chance against any viable Dem candidate. This isn't rocket science.

He is 73 yo. It's obvious you are not around GenZ on a daily basis.

I am honestly shocked how many older GenX and young Boomers have their head in the sand. The old-line Dems are sinking the ship and the captain has no idea.

I will confess I find the idea of a second American Camelot (which this would be) positively thrilling. though I do believe it would appear to generation z, as well.

You think Schumer would be a second Camelot???? Please tell me no. Kennedy was 43 and had a glamorous wife and lifestyle.
Lol. Exactly.

Chuck Schumer is married to Iris Weinshall, the COO for the New York Public Library. They are 100% a power couple. I'm sorry if they're not young and fit enough for you, but for the rest of us here in the real world, they're positively invigorating. And if people think he's too "old," well, Hakeem Jeffries would be on the ticket, as well.

You didn't understand the assignment. PPs refered to America having a second Camelot. The Kennedys were seen as American "royalty" because they were beautiful, young and rich.

The Schumers are rich.

I think you're not seeing the forest through the trees: yes, the Kennedys were young, but that's not all there was to their mystique. The Schumers have grace and sophistication in a way that I think, when paired with Hakeem Jeffries' youth and magnetism, could really be lightning in a bottle.

Which is the problem. Democrats chose a feeble old man that was meant to be a caretaker as their nominee. Someone who clearly belongs in a nursing home and not the Oval Office. Someone who isn't functional at 81 and will obviously be incapacitated by 85. There is a very strong chance this will be a landslide for Trump. All the battleground states are done. But now even Virginia is likely to go red. it will grow as everyone internalizes how weak Biden is, and it will become a cascade. And with it, Republicans will also have the Senate and the House.

It was probably a bad idea for Democrats to go with Biden. And without something extraordinary happening at the convention, November is going to be a catastrophe for Democrats. And yet they still seem to have their head in the sand.

If the democrats could choose a candidate that doesn't make the young voters want to end it all, it'd be amazing. Seriously, there is no benefit for any young person to vote in this upcoming election.

This is a probably with a very simple solution. Biden steps away. Normal candidate steps in and crushes Trump. Many of you are forgetting just how bad of a candidate Trump is.

Shh, it's a strategy at this point to fail all the young people, so they won't come out and vote. Who is it benefiting? No Idea, but GIVE US ANOTHER OLD GUY!!

I'm sorry, but are you calling Chuck Schumer potential lightning in a bottle? Is there some other Chuch Schumer who is not an old man that you are referring to? Because the problem is we chose a doddering old man as our nominee. So we need to replace him with someone who is not that.

You must be a russian troll trying to destablilize us.

It’s too late. Minority voters who moved to Trump will view this as a bait and switch, and see Trump as more of a victim.
