Whoever said the one field would be too small was right. There were around 50 2010 boys and 60+ 2011 boys.

Thats a better turn out than the 2012/2013 session.

How many showed up for that? Boys/Girls?

When I was there I noted about 50 boys total and saw only 2 girls.

wow

You're actually f***** stupid

What? Why so hostile?

I appreciate hearing about the tryouts being run and number of kids showing up. More information is always better than less to be an educated consumer even if your dc isn't trying out at that particular club

It looks like HYS only has 2 2011 teams for boys this year, that is a big turnout for just 2 teams.

A lot of the kids showing up are trying to get on the ECNL/top team and wouldn't take a spot on a lower team. Or, they are already on a top team somewhere else and just want to see if they would make another top team to see what their options are.

That's true of all the tryouts! Kids are just browsing, kicking the tires. Some parents I have met love to collect acceptances for their kids for teams they have no plan on joining and then brag about it.

Kicking the tires is the perfect analogy. I get that there is no way to prevent it but it sucks for the kids who have to wait for their offer while these tire-kickers collect offers they have no plan on taking.

No tire kicking here. Very much looking to leave current situation. Nervous about possibility of being offered top team in a year where they aren’t expanding the roster. Kicking ourselves for not making the move last year

Any chance they will reschedule the Friday tryouts? Cold rain all night what a drag

Thats a different situation! Your kid is legit trying out wanting to make the team

I’m wondering the same thing. It probably depends on how heavy the rain is going to be.

At the tryouts last night, it was so crowded. They had the kids playing in a bunch of mini size games (which was their best option really given how crowded the field was). At least they all got to play the whole time.

A Herndon parent told me the 6 groupings were in order best to worst, is that the norm? We have only been to tryouts on much bigger fields...

There were actually 7 girls. Not a huge difference but we might as well state facts. My daughter was one of the 7.

There were a bunch of kids last night who were leaving for spring break and couldnt attend Friday so fingers crossed they reschedule.
