Had a t-shirt from Bennetton, that had a quote in Greek from the Odyssey. Loved that shirt and made for great conversations.

Anyone remember the Outback Red collection at The Limited?

Never heard about the nightgowns some are mentioning. Maybe regional or a little ahead of my time.

Oh yes. That was a major status brand starting in 5th grade. Everyone wanted the long sleeve henley with a bunch of little buttons and the tag on the outside. Better if you had two different colors to layer.

These banana clips are making me think of the hair products - Sebastian extra tall hairspray bottles, KMS mousse, Dippity-doo gel. How many of us ruined our hair with Sun-in?

I was not into the preppy look and never owned a rugby shirt. But I loved my high cut swimsuits and my shoulder pads that I stuck into practically every top.

I also loved my leather bomber jacket and my houndstooth pencil miniskirt, which I often wore together. My favorite sweaters were an oversized chunky knit in bright red with the face of Sylvester the cat (from the cartoons) right in the middle and a cropped sweater in really nice wool with horizontal stripes in earth tones. That was from Filene’s basement, the real one in Boston’s downtown crossing and I had it for years and years. Still wish I hadn’t gotten rid of it.

Didn’t it branch off as a separate store?
