What's happening in FL colleges is kind of scary

More than one has removed all the books from their classroom because any parent complaint can get them in trouble. It is a nightmare. All except one plan to leave teaching and retire early.

Anything we can do to expedite their departure?

Because of your desire to destroy Florida schools?

It’s probably the “former educator” who hates education with every fiber of her being for some reason, seems to resent the whole point of it.

This is something that the Nazis would've done, and smacks of what they did as a precursor to extermination. Obviously, Desantis and his cronies wouldn't go that far, but pushing out existing staff and students to suit their agenda reminds of the Nazis pushing out the Jews into the ghettos.

FWIW, I am a cisgender female, moderate, sometimes leaning on the conservative side a bit. But, what I see going on in FL is kind of scary.

I was thinking DC might apply to a FL college, but I don't think that's going to happen now. DC is not gay but has a lot of lgbtq friends. FL is becoming very lgbtq unfriendly.

New College of Florida hired as its communications director a literal flasher with three charges for indecent exposure. He was caught getting himself off in women’s fitting rooms.

You should read up on the Nazis more. Understand the war that was taking place that lead to their surge in power. Not all is as it appears in US textbooks.

WSJ just named UF the #1 public university in the nation.

Being from "out west" isn't exactly a credential to evaluate colleges.

Yeah……and news organizations have had to pay Trump as he threatened to take remove them.
I’m sure this “#1 public university” is just a public show for the Trump cronies so WSJ doesn’t get hit with Trump lawsuits.
Everyone is knows Florida stinks for public education and universities. Thanks to MAGA.

No intelligent person goes to college in Florida.

Does Florida still use that ridiculous Prager U program in its schools? Absolute garbage stuff.

"Trans women" are a subset of men and all men can get the hell out of women's spaces.

Does everyone also know that Florida has a scholarship program (Bright Futures) that makes FL public universities FREE for many in-state students?

But hiring a guy who was arrested three times for rubbing one off in a women’s dressing room is just fine as long as the guy isn’t trans.

WSJ has had UF ranked #1 for a few years now.

UF and FSU have both been steadily climbing the USNews rankings over the past 15 years or so.

Oh, what, should Florida college textbooks teach that Nazis were actually the good guys and that the Holocaust didn't really happen?

Actually, it’s down 33 spots for 2025. It is now ranked #34 among public universities.

“UF, which the Wall Street Journal in 2024 ranked No. 1 among public universities, plummeted to No. 34 in its 2025 ranking published last week. Among all universities, UF ranked No. 83 this year, down 68 spots from No. 15.”
