Bingo.

Guess we will see how many Republicans are owned by Putin then.

Please stop with the “owned by Putin”. GOP are pro Putin because Trump is pro-Putin. They aren’t getting paid, they do this willingly.

Nope, they are being blackmailed and have been since 2016. Sad that many simply retired and walked away rather than be there to fight for our country. Totally feckless.

It seems this way to me too, but I can’t understand what he has on them individually. But the way they act, it truly seems like they are Russian agents.

He will release the very fine people on those who don't comply. Read the Mitt Romney piece in The Atlantic.

I mean, one can surely guess what they have on Lindsey Graham.

And I would imagine that many of these other "family values" representatives and senators have many things to hide.

PEOPLE! It’s not that sinister. These guys are just craven, power people who have realized they can make a ton of $$ being a$$holes. Sure, maybe 1-2 are compromised but not all of them.

People have allowed themselves to forget and to pretend that the GOP is a normal party. Read. Remember. https://gregolear.substack.com/p/sleeper-cell-the-fourth-of-july-traitors

Have you heard that old saw about the dinner party?

Q. What do you call a dinner party for 12 with a Nazi at the table?

A. A table full of Nazis.

They’re compromised and it’s people like you letting them off the hook.

Who raised the price of oil artificially with barriers created by executive orders to U.S. oil production and refining?

Who benefited from that price hike? Hint: the country whose number one export is oil.

This is a party where a member just gave a hand job to the guy next to her in a public theater at a family show while he was grabbing her breast, oh and she was also vaping (let alone she was married to a sex molester) and not only she is still there, the inly backlash she got was that the guy was apparently a democrat (she made sure she told her supporters she left him and that she did not know he was a democrat). And george santos? Should i list what just came out about him? Still there no problems. I am sure these people can be blackmailed into doing anything, but i an also sure many of them are ready for their next $$$$$ lucrative jig on Fox or similar outlets

The Republicans in Congress will force a shutdown. Doing damage to the economy and people's real lives is a small price to pay in return for having some new talking points/lies for a few weeks. MAGA!

It's not a price at all when they will inevitably blame the damage on Biden.

Right, but am saying they will do it (damage the U.S. economy, affecting everyone) willfully, in order to score some cheap points on Fox and OAN.

Classic MAGA.

Fox/OAN nothing. The regular media uses all this as a cudgel against the Democrats, too.

I was a contractor for a government organization when the government shutdown happened in 2013. We were out for three weeks IIRC. Some were deemed essential so that organization ran with around 50% staff. I was not there.

You wouldn't believe how much work in IT got done during the shutdown. With far fewer meetings and "concurs" needed, they did around three months of work with just a few government folks saying go forth and get stuff done.

Group hugs and decisions by committee were skipped and stuff got done. I kid you not.

What damage to the economy? 88% of the federal staff will still be at work?

Get some perspective. The government is damaging the economy today.

The institutional failure here is the business establishment that finances all these lunatics. I get that they want tax cuts and deregulation and no prosecutions for defrauding their workers, customers, and investors. None of that is new. But the business establishment previously understood that the government needed to be boring and stable and predictable so nobody noticed all the corruption and patronage.

Sen Menendez is just the beginning.
