Thank you for confirming that NPS never said “cars were bad for the park” as the rationale for the decision and that you made that up. I’m glad that you are big enough to admit your error. |
Milloy has had his finger on the pulse of many Washingtonians — both Black and White. But you wouldn’t know that. |
|
Crap. This is where I live and really increases our drive time. Also puts a ton of cars on residential streets. My house backs up on this area and while reduced traffic is great, it is an extreme inconvenience for thousands of motorists.

| Curious, how’s Oregon Ave NW? Packed? |
I can’t believe I’m in agreement with Milloy. There must be snowflakes in Hell. |
Adding pollution is never good for the environment. |
It's not, and never is. This is just more NIMBY hysteria. |
Increasing congestion increases pollution. Thanks for the talk. |
There is already congestion and the park is already closed. At least the park is cleaner now than it was. And going forward it will continue to heal. |
NPS found that continued closure led to increased degradation of habitat in the park due to pedestrian users making their own trails. |
Why doesn’t anyone ever think about the convenience of motorists? |
I’m shocked a self-important Maryland resident like Milloy doesn’t like paying speed camera fines, parking tickets or obeying traffic laws in general. |
Our whole society and culture is about the convenience of motorists. That is the problem that needs to be undone in the 21st century. |
Increasing the number of cars on the road by making it easier to drive increases pollution. |
The number if cars on the road is not being reduced. |
