Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
Actually, Montgomery County suspended indoor masking (not MCPS) on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 12:01 a.m. It could be argued that the January / February 2022 spike was proximately caused by that order. |
Agree. Another change is that past school years started with very low infection rates. 0's mostly. This year is different. It's a much different pattern. I wish MCPS kept statistics on re-infections since that would determine if there's another issue going on here. I'd be concerned if the same children were becoming re-infected, especially more than twice. That wouldn't be good. |
We don't have accurate numbers as this is all self reporting. This is why we need regular testing. |
That’s not a thing either. |

On, Donald. We know you think therapy and bleach are effective against COVID, but they aren't. COVID is being transmitted at a high rate right now in most of the country. Board of Education member Scott Joftus isn't doing his job this week because he is out with COVID like many, many MCPS teachers and staff. |
How would that change anything? |
It probably wouldn't but I'd like to know to know if its safe for my kids to return in person. |
At what point would you keep your kids home? |
What is your cutoff for that? And how did you come up with it? |

I think they might reconsider their arrogance down the road. As I learn more about the disease, the more I'm glad I stopped paying attention to the anti-masker and "covid is over" comments.
"Repeatedly catching Covid-19 appears to increase the chances that a person will face new and sometimes lasting health problems after their infection, according to the first study on the health risks of reinfection." "They also had higher risks for lung and heart problems, fatigue, digestive and kidney disorders, diabetes and neurologic problems." "If you asked me about reinfection maybe a year and a half ago, I would tell you that maybe I have a patient here or there, but it's really, really rare," Al-Aly said. That's not true anymore, though." "Common new diagnoses after reinfections included chest pain, abnormal heart rhythms, heart attacks, inflammation of the heart muscle or the sac around the heart, heart failure and blood clots. Common lung issues included shortness of breath, low blood oxygen, lung disease, and accumulation of fluid around the lungs" https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/05/health/covid-reinfection-risk/index.html |
Ok, fine. You're happy, we're happy. |
They are already home. Not everyone choose to return right away. |
Right away? Do you need to look at a calendar? Do you know what year it is? |
