How do I know if I’m a MAGA?

Even though I don't understand, I'm willing to forgive the 2016 voters who saw the error of their ways.

+1, but by “Trump” I mean “any Republican who has forgone decency and honor.” That’s 99% of all Republicans lately.

So if given a choice in next election between Trump and Biden, if I would choose Trump, then I’m a MAGA?

Even if I’d rather see Youngkin or Desantis as the nominee?

You're MAGA and this is a stupid game.

If there are no non-MAGA republicans on the ballot for a race and you cannot bring yourself to vote Democrat, you can vote for (non-MAGA) this party candidates or simply not vote. But if you vote for Trump or one of him supporters, you are undeniably MAGA.

Disagree. Even Liz Cheney supported his policies.

Old enough to remember the Liz Cheney who cynically leveraged homophobia as a wedge issue, refused to denounce birtherism and was an unapologetic neocon warmonger. Just your average “arch conservative” who thought she’d become Speaker one day.

Odd because this is one of the only times in modern American history that a Vice President openly disagreed with the President. Bush 43 wanted a Constitutional amendment stating that marriage is between one man and one woman. Dick Cheney, who has a gay daughter, disagreed and said that he would leave the decision up to the states.

If you can't differentiate between "your" and "you're", you're just your average ignorant liberal.

You’re absolutely right. I’m an average ignorant liberal. The thing is, the average ignorant liberal is 14 IQ points to the right of 100 with a large standard deviation. Plenty of liberal idiots, plenty of liberal geniuses. The average MAGA (they’re all ignorant) is 14 points to the left of 100, very tightly wrapped around the median.

Carl (2014) analysed data from the U.S. General Social Survey (GSS), and found that individuals who identify as Republican have slightly higher verbal intelligence than those who identify as Democrat. An important qualification was that the measure of verbal intelligence used was relatively crude, namely a 10-word vocabulary test. This study examines three other measures of cognitive ability from the GSS: a test of probability knowledge, a test of verbal reasoning, and an assessment by the interviewer of how well the respondent understood the survey questions. In all three cases, individuals who identify as Republican score slightly higher than those who identify as Democrat; the unadjusted differences are 1–3 IQ points, 2–4 IQ points and 2–3 IQ points, respectively. Path analyses indicate that the associations between cognitive ability and party identity are largely but not totally accounted for by socio-economic position: individuals with higher cognitive ability tend to have better socio-economic positions, and individuals with better socio-economic positions are more likely to identify as Republican. These results are consistent with Carl's (2014) hypothesis that higher intelligence among classically liberal Republicans compensates for lower intelligence among socially conservative Republicans.

Why are you using a study from 2014? There is a huge difference between people who identified as Republican in 2014 and people who still identify as Republican after everything that has happened in the last 6 years. The fact that you seem unaware of just how outdated your study is speaks poorly of your own IQ.

In 2020? Yes.

You might get a pass in 2016, but in 2020 you truly knew what he was.

And it’s a study by a Noah Carl, a rabid racist who was fired by Cambridge University for his White racist pseudo scholarship.

The average MAGA believed Comet Pizza has a basement hosting a child sex ring. All false. The GOP rank and file continue to fund Trump's MAGA grift. Sad.

Face it, Republicans are better informed, more intelligent, more attractive, make more money, and are happier.

Dems tend to be a big umbrella party. Republicans probably do have advantages of having more wealthy members. There is a lot of scientific data that dorectly ties educational outcomes and achievement to wealth.

Wealthy people who identify as Democrat even though it may be financially more in their interest to vote for the party that usually lowers taxes for the wealthy probably have types of social intelligence that are not easily measured: empathy and integrity.

Alternative theory: age and wealth are positively correlated. Since the R party is older, it is also richer. If you slice by age ranges, I doubt Rs are richer.
