How do I know if I’m a MAGA?

Mostly this. Also whether you would vote for him a 2nd time / still like him.

I know a few people who voted for him the first time figuring what’s the worst that could happen. Anyone who does a second time is MAGA.

You’re absolutely right. I’m an average ignorant liberal. The thing is, the average ignorant liberal is 14 IQ points to the right of 100 with a large standard deviation. Plenty of liberal idiots, plenty of liberal geniuses. The average MAGA (they’re all ignorant) is 14 points to the left of 100, very tightly wrapped around the median.

Carl (2014) analysed data from the U.S. General Social Survey (GSS), and found that individuals who identify as Republican have slightly higher verbal intelligence than those who identify as Democrat. An important qualification was that the measure of verbal intelligence used was relatively crude, namely a 10-word vocabulary test. This study examines three other measures of cognitive ability from the GSS: a test of probability knowledge, a test of verbal reasoning, and an assessment by the interviewer of how well the respondent understood the survey questions. In all three cases, individuals who identify as Republican score slightly higher than those who identify as Democrat; the unadjusted differences are 1–3 IQ points, 2–4 IQ points and 2–3 IQ points, respectively. Path analyses indicate that the associations between cognitive ability and party identity are largely but not totally accounted for by socio-economic position: individuals with higher cognitive ability tend to have better socio-economic positions, and individuals with better socio-economic positions are more likely to identify as Republican. These results are consistent with Carl's (2014) hypothesis that higher intelligence among classically liberal Republicans compensates for lower intelligence among socially conservative Republicans.

The average MAGA believed Comet Pizza has a basement hosting a child sex ring. All false. The GOP rank and file continue to fund Trump's MAGA grift. Sad.

Gross that you're making light of this for political points. Families were in the restaurant when this occured. The shooter, who by all accounts was an actually decent person who was terribly misled by conspiracy theories, thought he was going to save kids. This is the result of unchecked internet trolls, not Trump. And, check your notes-- Obama was president when this occurred. So gross.

Actually decent? Why? Because he went to church? Talk about gross.

What about the person who tried to set a fire in the restaurant.

And the people who came to DC with guns and body armor on Jan 6?

There’s always fine people on both sides, right?

Why are you using a study from 2014? There is a huge difference between people who identified as Republican in 2014 and people who still identify as Republican after everything that has happened in the last 6 years. The fact that you seem unaware of just how outdated your study is speaks poorly of your own IQ.

Dems tend to be a big umbrella party. Republicans probably do have advantages of having more wealthy members. There is a lot of scientific data that dorectly ties educational outcomes and achievement to wealth.

Wealthy people who identify as Democrat even though it may be financially more in their interest to vote for the party that usually lowers taxes for the wealthy probably have types of social intelligence that are not easily measured: empathy and integrity.

Sorry, the Dems are no longer a big umbrella party. They may be a better party, but they only want sycophants. The veil has been lifted.

The projection by MAGAists always gives them away.

That rhetoric may have preceded Trump but he sure fanned the flames. Wasn't his birtherism before that, or around the same time. Nevertheless, it seems obvious why people find it correlates.

It has everything to do with Trumpism because Pizzagate was weaponized by MAGA grifters embraced by TFG. It was the gateway drug for QAnon and its associated RW tinfoil batsh*ttery TFG refuses to denounce. Still looking for a reason anyone would believe a literal terrorist is decent.

“This issue” was part and parcel of the GOP’s problem whether they want to admit it or not. Republicans are by and large stuck in the GOP wingnut sphere. They only consume right wing media. They have alienated their friends and family who would share was other people think. That guy went to “rescue” kids in a basement because he was a victim of right wing propaganda, the same propaganda that led so many to vote for Trump in the primary and then in the general. It has never been a secret what a wretched person Donald is.

At least the guy was trying to rescue kids, not abuse them like on Epstein island. Where’s that list again?

A random dude drive hundreds of miles to “investigate” a baseless conspiracy involving nonexistent kids who weren’t in a nonexistent basement of a pizza restaurant. He entered the restaurant armed with an AR15 and a pistol prepared to “sacrifice a few lives.” The discharged the rifle while inside the restaurant where families were eating with children. He’s now serving four years in prison because he’s a f*****g moron and a danger to society. But maybe he should have tried to “rescue” something else imaginary like the Tooth Fairy. Please seek mental health counseling.

Classic MAGA. There was no "abuse," and no "children," and not even an effing basement... Just a dumb, deluded, uneducated MAGA simpleton hyped up on Internet conspiracy theories and a taste for the dramatic.

The DC cops shouid've slaughtered this cornpone asswipe but they took pity on him and let him live. His defense in court was essentially "Please don't punish me, I'm just an idiot." He's now in federal prison.
