Naomi Judd removed both daughters from her $25 million will

I bet Naomi and Wynonna knew this was going to happen. You don’t think they would’ve talked to their mom about this?!

My dad speaks freely about how his trust is structured. His kids get 1/3, his wife (my stepmom) gets 2/3. When she dies, I have no doubt she’ll give the entire amount to her daughter (my stepsister). Stepmom is 20 years younger than my dad so very certain she’ll outlive him.

Yeah it’s weird that up to 2/3 of my dad’s estate will ultimately go to my dad’s wife’s daughter, whom he didn’t know until she was in her mid 20s, but that’s life. This is why no capable adult children should “plan” on living off a parent’s estate… make your own damn money!

Gosh, I hope so. No-one should have their trauma broadcast to the world. We seem to have lost all decency in these matters.

Gosh, I cannot imagine thinking this way at all, so much so that both my husband and I have structured trusts to ensure that if one of us dies, half the estate is immediately put in trust for our kids, even if grown and adult. I’d never exclude my kids the way you have. So cold!

The kids will have to wait until I die.

You sound like a witch

I’m a witch because I am not immediately forking over my assets as a youngish widow? I could potentially live 35+ years or more. I am very generous to all the kids and help financially when I can, but mostly I take them on great trips. They are doing fine in life. Also, you have no idea how much money I actually have. I’m extremely comfortable but not rich.

Ignore these entitled brats. It’s ridiculous to even consider that your husband’s assets wouldn’t have gone to his living spouse first.

Why is that ridiculous? It leaves the kids most likely with nothing. It’s natural for a parent to want to provide for their children.

Providing for your spouse is the priority. The father could chose to have his spouse use his assets while she is living and then the remainder can go to his children.

If it’s a trust he can say what happens to it after his wife passes. Could go to her kids, you or charity or anyone else he wants to give it to.

Sometimes I think it would be wonderful to live in a far-out rural location, but then stories like this remind me how challenging it is to receive emergency services. The outcome almost certainly would have been the same, but I can't imagine the trauma of watching your loved one die while waiting for help.

The issue for Naomi’s daughters may be the land. Their homes are on her 10,000 acre estate. Maybe they settled it a while ago and not art of Naomi’s estate. If it is part of her estate, the step dad could kick them off and keep the homes.

Well Wy is going on tour this winter so she likely will make good money since she still makes great music.

Which I seriously doubt would ever happen.

Larry is “Pops” to the girls.

+1 a lot of rando speculation on this thread since no-one knows what the trust stipulates.

Does the husband have children of his own?

He'll have a new gold digging younger wife soon enough. I'd bet anything on it.

Men do normally remarry.

Gold digger + his own new baby. Watch and see. The Judd sisters aren’t going to get squat.
