Wow. They’ve been living together on one estate for decades and were supposedly very close family. Why woukd she leave out both daughters and any grandchildren from a $25 million inheritance?
Naomi Judd, who was the long-time singing partner of her daughter Wynonna as The Judds, left her two daughters out of her will in a baffling move. Both Wynonna, 58, and Ashley, 54, did not feature in the will, and did not get any part of her estate, with the Nashville superstar leaving everything to her widower Larry Strickland. The couple had been married for 33 years, with Naomi making Strickland the executor of her estate in a move that was said to ‘baffle’ Wynonna. The Grammy award-winning country star’s decision has reportedly sparked another bitter battle between Ashley and Wynonna. Ashley is reportedly siding with her late mother and Larry, while Wynona believes that they ‘conspired’ against her |
| Ugh, so sickening. But we don't know what happened. Maybe she gave them things in life that is enough. Who knows. |
| So a wife dies and leaves everything to her life parter and spouse? Not sure where the drama is in that. Not as though her daughters were in financial need and she injured them by not providing additional resources. What’s the big deal? Aren’t people free to do what they wish with the money they earned? |
| Why are they entitled to her estate at all? Both made millions through their own careers. |
Exactly. But this site draws A LOT of incredibly entitled people who believe other peoples money should eventually become their money. |
Wynonna is probably not that well-off, financially. Doesn’t seem like the type to save for the future and was probably counting on that inheritance. Ashley’s probably doing a bit better. |
He’s not their father. Interesting choice to give it all to him. He could remarry tomorrow and every dime would go to his new wife. Especially hurtful since the money Naomi made came from her daughter’s powerful voice. |

Familiarity breeds contempt. Likely they were close but kept fighting each other, and in a fit of pique, and aided by her husband, she cut her daughters off the will... and didn't have time to reinstate them.
Oh well. |
That’s her fault for being a spendthrift then. |
What? You know nothing about their finances. |
They were married for 33 years. He was not a brand new husband. Of course that is who her estate should go to. Naomi made her money and Wynonna made her own. There was no “making her money off her daughter’s voice”. They were a music act and compensated as such. |

It’s not “sickening.” It’s likely she intended Strickland to then leave the estate to the children after he passed; when one of my parents dies, the money goes to the surviving parent—for their long-term care and well-being—and THEN to the three children equally.
Plus? Her daughters are each freaking multi-millionaires in their own right, and have the capacity to continue to make millions of dollars from music, film, book deals, speaker fees, appearances, etc. They’re fine. |
| Brainwashed and instable woman who harbored resentment against her own children. No wonder she was mentally unhealthy. No wonder she committed suicide. How could she be happy? Her bitterness did not allow her to be thankful for what she had. |
He could die today without remarrying and the money could go to someone else. It’s his and his heirs’ money now. |
You really don’t know how anything is structured. |
