That's exactly what they've addressed with their new selection criteria by ensuring all students have access to these programs not just ones from wealthy schools who invested thousands of dollars into prep classes to make them appear gifted.

Yep. We are not able to "game admissions" by holding our kids to high standards in school, making them practice reading or math at home, and even sending them to classes, if needed. I also play the same "game the system" at work when I prepare for analyses I do or presentations I make.

Having advantages is not the same as "gaming" admissions.

Results you said? None of the school systems ranked above MCPS can come close to match it's results, not even close.
You can rank higher than MCPS on paper but when it comes to on the field competitions and results, MCPS crushes the competitions.

Except virtually none are staying in this area. Most are headed to other states, often NY or the South but also sometimes retraversing the country to go to California and Arizona.

It sure seems like the problem Karens are all moving to Howard and Frederick so the teachers there are in for a rough ride, but hopefully, this will reduce the amount of toxicity in MCPS too.
